I've become interested in some solar backup options for the home.

The EcoFlow Delta2 Max appears like it will meet my needs, and is expandable if need be.

Where do you folks shop for this type product with good pricing?

    Thanks!

If you decide to go Jackery I gotchu

That said, if I were buying an EcoFlow right now I would no joke look at your local Harbor Freight. We have them in ours here, and the pricing has been SOLID for those units.

Just make sure wherever you buy them they have a valid warranty. Some resellers may not be authorized, and you DEFINITELY want the warranty intact.

If you want ease of use, one of the prepackaged GoalZero/Jackery/EcoFlow, etc are the easiest. They are definitely not the most cost effective if you aren’t opposed to learn some electronics and set up your own battery bank from lead acids, golf cart batteries or even just parking a used Nissan Leaf somewhere and using that as your battery source.

Not sure what your local regulations are on feeding back to the grid, so you probably want to include a grid disconnect either way.

I'd skip jackery unless you're getting the one model with lifepo4 batteries.

I have a store close to visit, but online they don't have the model I mentioned. It's a '23 offering.

If you have a Jackery that's competitive with that product shoot me a PM with some info. I've heard of, but not investigated, the Jackery lineup.

    Thanks!

Can't do all that homemade hoopla here in a condo. It's why I sold my Honda EU2000. I do have a some nice sun exposure for recharging, and could likely even manage a roof top for the panel set up if a long term outage was in the works.

That is the battery type I'm interested in that the EcoFlow has.

Have you compared the draw of what you want to power with the available room for solar panels? The advertising says recharge in as little as 2.3 hours with 1000 watts of solar but I’ll tell you from experience that is nearly impossible outside of perfectly setup lab experiments. Typical efficiency of your solar panels will be about 50%, so 1000 watts of panels would realistically give you a recharge time in full sunlight of 4-5 hours. This is assuming you aren’t also drawing from the battery during the day to power anything.

Only thing I can add to this is that I have a portable EcoFlow for camping and it is NICE. It’s very easy to use and it gets the job done well. If you go with EcoFlow, you’ll be happy.

What's really interesting is while several have offered good thoughts to consider, no one other than @memario1214 has answered my main question........

"Where do you folks shop for this type product with good pricing?"

My list of places so far..........

EcoFlow, Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowes, REI, Costco, Bass Pro, Amazon

These seem obvious. I'm sure some of you supershoppers have other sources to look at too

what are you exactly trying to power in your condo?

If my power went out, I’m running the gas generator regardless.. I’ll deal with the consequences later with the HOA. During the freeze here in TX, neighbors complained about my gas generator noise. Cops showed up and I pulled out my decibel meter on my phone and was within ordinance.

To answer your question tho, I’m betting buying direct during Black Friday will be your best bet

I’m looking for a new generator and I am considering the EcoPro Delta 2 with an extra battery for home backup.
    A couple of questions:
    1. Considering I only use back up every two or three years or so is this a bad choice based on battery life? Should I stick with a gas unit?
    2. Will the 400watt outlet in the bed of my truck charge it? I have a 3000 watt Honda generator that I could use as well. Problem is I’m in a townhouse and not sure if a gas generator is going to piss people off.

I have a seriously good deal sitting in my Amazon cart right now…..$1495.00 for the delta 2 and an extra battery.
My big concern is will it be useless if I don’t end up using it for say a year.
    TIA

No, ecoflow is picky. Has to be pure sine wave do our taco 400w bed outlet won’t do.

Might try here for EcoFlow sat123.com
Friend of mine a fairly good sized system with the solar panels from here. Seems solid.
I have an EcoFlow River Pro with extra battery. Only puts out 600 watts, but gets me by until I get a generator running.

Bought my Anker Solix C1000 direct for 35% off. Best unit I’ve owned but I’ve never owned Eco Flow. I have owned goal zero and bluetti. Both solid but not on same level as the Anker Solix. I buy my panels direct from renogy
