Got some Yakima tracks and a set of crossbars installed this weekend all by myself. Thank god for windows that open, so I could reach through with a socket. Now I need something to carry to justify the effort.

To add on to yesterday’s belt and pulley job, did the spark plugs, air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor. Took about a hour and a half since I stopped halfway through to service the wife.

I know i did some servicing on my tacoma a few weeks ago. Hope you guys dont care since i know this thread is what have i done today. But when i did it, i put a brand new set of spark plugs in it, used the oem toyota denso ones. Cleaned the maf sensor with crc maf sensor cleaner, sprayed it really good. Also, cleaned the throttle body. used crc throttle body cleaner. put a new gasket on to for it. i cleaned it with the throttle body on, so, it took it a sec to get started since of the cleaner being sucked in, but today, i happened to listen to my engine idling, its stupid quiet, i always run shell gas. i run 87 during the winter, but in the spring-fall while im mowing grass, i use 93 since i tow 2,900lbs twice a week. ive figured out some small things to make these engines run quiet. if you guys want to know my secrets and what ive done, send me a private message. i would post a video but im not sure if i can post a minute long video or not.

Cut down the “old man” OEM mudflaps. Actually drug one of fronts going over a speed bump recently.

love these little things that don’t cost me anything.

This weekend I built a ported box for my 10” sub. Definetly not a carpeter but I think it turned out all right and I can still use both rear seats if needed. I will get a amp and head unit wired up in a few weeks when I have time

Diode Dynamics Ditch and Fogs installed. Both with amber backlighting.

@memario1214 was awesome to work out and make this happen! We figured out a way to get the fog lights with the round bezels and the Amber back lighting. These are the Pro Series.

Trying to chase down a clank in my front end when the suspension seems to hit full extension then engage again like when going over a speed bump or dropping off a ledge. Wasn't consistent and seemed more noticeable when turning in different directions. Could feel the clunk in my steering wheel. Finally videoed the front end dropping off the driveway ledge on both sides and narrowed it down to the driver side. I have had it on jack stands, placing a pry bar everywhere I could on 3 different occasions when I finally noticed while cycling my suspension on the driver side my strut top bushing was expanding and contracting. then noticed the washer on the inside of the top hat wasn't in continuous contact with the top hat at full droop. Compared to the passenger side there was also half the amount of threads showing above the strut top nut on the driver side than there were on the passenger side. Tightened, noise gone. 3 weeks of freaking out every time I heard a clank just to have the nut on the top of the strut back out half an inch.

    Suspension.png
Added some paint pen markings on the nut and the strut top so I can see if it starts backing out again.

I would check the torque on the upper and lower control arms. They seem be be a major source of similar clunking issues. If the torque is good use a jack to see if the bushings move in the arms as well.
