All done with the front, I’ve still got it. Took me an hour from wheels up to wheels down. Everything went smoothly, minus the previous owner having red loctite over all the suspension for the spacer lift. IMG_6283.jpg

Slick topped it today by removing the factory roof rack. If anything's going back up there it will be some low profile crossbars and a wedge RTT.

That is my dedicated camping pee bottle, for when I need to pee in the middle of the night and don't want to go outside. It gets washed and bleached after every trip.

No rack looks good on the 5th gen. I've debated taking my roof rack off for the slick top look, but thats one of the only things keeping the 4th gen from becoming a subaru forester

Was anything needed to fill in holes or what-not? I've been wanting to do this, but worried about what was left over.

I used this kit to fill the holes. Once you remove the rack the holes have a raised shoulder around them so you can't just put the bolts back in, plus they're too long. This kit is perfect because you bolt down the trim retainer bracket, and then pop the trim in for a seamless look up top. I did use some non hardening silicone before installing.

A tip when removing (and installing) the bolts, loosen each one a little bit and jump back and forth, something to do with how the threaded holes are actually a bracket. I used a 1/2" drive 12mm which made it easy to get past the red threadlocker. This video explains it well.

Gotcha. Seems my usual method of cussing doesn't work for this.

It was easy, the whole thing took me 15 minutes. I'm just glad I checked the forums first because apparently if you undo the bolts "wrong" the bracket can drop into the headliner. Then you could start cussing.
