    OK I am actually porting this for my Boss - He just purchased a 2011 and it does not hav a therm/Compass in it. Is it possible to add one? Maybe the one that is supposed to be installed if it came with one?

    yup, they're expensive though. I think I read they are about $600 from the dealership. maybe check in a nearby junkyard. sometimes they go up for sale on here for a few hundred bucks.

    I think hearing that news made my boss mess his pants...but still interested if I can find one cheaper like a junk yard. My question now is do you know if the sensor is installed even if the compass/thermeter package is installed? What about the wires?

    far as i know its wired as plug and play, sensor included

    do a search, i think there is a diy thread on here. i believe if you pop the hood and pull the grille you'll see the temperature sensor attached in front of the radiator. i think it looks like a little black plastic cylinder thingy with some wires coming out. can't remember though. spares is right, it's basically plug and play, at worst you'd need to splice some wires that are already in your headliner.
