Power Steering Fluid Gen 3 Tacoma

Got a leaky steering rack. I got atf castrol tansmax import multi vehicle; says meets requirements of dexron III H. This should be dexron atf fluid compatible with my truck? Also should I try and get out all the old dirty ps fluid and then refill? Will mixing two different brands of the same dexron compatible atf fluid not work out?

Anything that meets the spec. But, I feel that particular Mazda stuff helped with the weeping that I had.

 

Would you by chance have a part# or link for the one you used? My boots have always been wet and I checked my fluid yesterday and it was a wee bit below the cold min line.

That was the problem that I had.

 

Any particular reason why we went with the Mazda one? Just curious if it has something the other don't etc.

It was on the shelf because the Mazda 3 that we had for too short of a time needed some. I thought about heading to the local store, but I had some Amazon rewards points and couldn't argue with Free.

I was pleasantly surprised that the specs matched and put some in the Taco.

 

Any red ATF is fine, doesn't matter if it's conventional or synthetic.

Steering rack leaks are common, you're not going magically seal it up with any special fluid.
