a locksmith can program the key fob but there may be extra steps to program it to be acceptable to the car's immobilizer.

We went "not arrow head hunting"... 10 year old found a great Fossil. It's fun because 99% of shell fossils we find are the negative. But this one is the actual shell.

The second photo... which also holds a better Fossil in the top left

Took it to the Southeast Adventure Vehicle Expo. Awesome time. I taught some medical classes and enjoyed the obstacle course and trail there. Got stuck on a drainage pipe but learned a ton!IMG_20240302_170200620.jpg IMG_20240301_072012657_HDR.jpg

Programming the stock FOB is easy and can be done without any special tools or software. There are instructions here on TW.

Programming the immobilization chip in the key takes a little extra effort and requires the Techstream software, a computer to run Techstream, and USB/serial to OBDII cable. I have this one which came with the Techstream software (I believe it came with instructions to reprogram as well), but it's gone up in price a bit since I bought it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084H75MZ3

I bought 3 new keys and fobs on Amazon, got them cut at a dealer for $10, then reprogrammed them all myself. In total it was probably $70-80 for all 3 keys and FOBs. Which was a steal compared to local places charging $150 per key/FOB to program, and plus I have the software and a compatible USB to OBD cable any time I want to make more or makes ones for our other Toyotas.

Just make sure you get the correct type of key for your specific year.

I saw that and used it as advice to start soaking it, source a quality 10mm impact socket and make sure the plug was cleaned out to get a good seat. Didn’t matter haha. I just said screw it and tightened the fill plug back up. It’s due for inspection next month which I do at work so when it’s in the lift I’ll get it with an air chisel. Even bought the Lexus replacement plugs.

Had the day off so I figured I’d try again, picked up a new cold chisel for $9 and had it loose in maybe ten hits with a hammer. Anyone need the 10mm strip socket and chisel? lol

Changed the original serp belt, finally...

    received_1792026571304436.jpg

    I guess I got my money's worth

    received_322889743652745.jpg

BTW, the top belt is the new one, bottom is the old one. The rest of the belt was similar to those couple cracks in the picture.
