RADAR CHECK: A band of rain and strong thunderstorms continues to push into North and West Alabama early this morning. The storms have been generally weakening, but a tornado warning was issued for parts of Lamar County between 5 and 6 a.m. No damage was reported as the circulations on radar remained broad. Another tornado warning was issued for parts of Jackson County in NE Alabama shortly before 6 a.m.

The storms will progress southward through the state today; the main threats will come from small hail and strong, gusty winds. By afternoon, the heavier storms will be over the southern half of the state.

Rain amounts will be in the 1-2 inch range for most of Alabama through tonight.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Most of the state will be rain-free tomorrow with potential for some sun; the high will be in the low 70s. Showers return Sunday, with potential for a few stronger thunderstorms near the Gulf Coast. It won’t rain all day Sunday, and rain amounts will be under 1/2 inch.

NEXT WEEK: Dry and colder air arrives Monday, and another late season freeze is likely by daybreak Tuesday morning over the northern half of the state, with lows in the 25-32 degree range likely. Frost is possible down into South Alabama. Showers will likely return Thursday night or Friday; for now it doesn’t look like a severe thunderstorm situation. See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1938: A tornado hit McPaul, Iowa, while moving from southeast to northwest. Another tornado raced through Batesville, Illinois, at 60 to 65 mph. Another tornado causing F4 damage killed 10 and injured 12 in St. Clair County, Missouri. This tornado was part of an outbreak that produced four different tornadoes and was responsible for 11 deaths and 42 injuries.

You can wire two of the small ones together. A little more money once you buy two but you could put off buying the second until you get ac. They also make soft start devices for rv’s to allow air conditioners to start up on less power.

You looked at the dual fuel Champion generators? I think they’re at HD. Their prices were comparable to HF I think. It’s been a while.

Id buy the pecron. https://www.amazon.com/pecron-E1500LFP-Portable-Charging-Generator/dp/B0CKWTHM8K?th=1. Ill probably buy it when im in the market for a new solar generator. It rivals all the big brands and even out preforms them in some areas. Price is nuts for what you get.

If I'm thinking right, that's like Jackery? If so, I want an actual generator so that I can recharge my power station, run an A/C, etc

Yes its a battery station, it will charge your jackery probably like 6 or so times. The 100 panels are super efficient on it as well. As far as running an AC, not sure how long your planning on running it for but if you stay somewhere with a power outlet you could just plug into that if not your going to run through a shit ton on gasoline or solar power either way. AC is a high draw item.

I'm getting the gas b/c I can easily refill it to keep going. With the battery, I'd need solar and sunlight to recharge it. What happens if it's cloudy, raining, in a wooded area? Might not get the required sun needed. With gas......pour and go :D

I'm not against solar/battery(as I'd like it on my truck), I just don't want it to be the only way to have power.

I have owned generators. I know how they work. For me, this works best. It'll also give me a reason to actually use the gas cans I've had sitting inside for 6yrs or more(back when I had my TJ trailer) I bought a case of them off CL for $75

No worries. The battery banks are nice and I use the shit out of my little jackery, my mind was already set on a generator. I will eventually throw some solar panels on my truck....then have both options :D
