This is a little bit of an odd question but can anyone tell me what switches should be illuminated on the dash?

Like most people, I’m often in my truck at night. A lot of the controls, buttons and switches(Traction control, RSCA, Diff Lock, etc.) seem to be dark and even unlit. I know that my climate control fan speed knob has a bulb out but many of the other switches, I’m unsure about.

I have a 2011 Tacoma TX Pro TRD. I’ll attach some photos to better illustrate what I’m trying to explain.

The H2 - H4 - L4 switch is not lighted from the factory. There is a guy here that sells a circuit board that will illuminate this switch with LEDs.

The RR Diff Lock switch should be back lighted, the traction control (skidding car) Off switch should be back lighted, and the RSCA Off should be back lighted.

The mirror control switch is not back lighted from the factory (although it should have been).

I replaced ALL of the switch back lights on my '09 with LEDs last year.

@naIIan there are a couple of ways to add back lighting to the interior of our trucks. The mirror control switch has a mod that I did a few years ago and I switched out the AC control knobs that can be purchased off Amazon.
The knobs do not have bubs, they use the existing switch bulbs to illuminate the "ring." it appears you have one that is burned out.

What was the mod for the mirror switch? I think my commuter car has the same mirror switch and it'd be nice if it were illuminated. It's in a weird place.

Swapping the Tacoma mirror switch for one out of a Prius along with a wiring harness. The link above will fill in the details.

That reminds me. I have a habit of starting with clutch start cancel switch. Last car had that wired out. ROW market I believe doesn’t use it.
Pressing clutch to start seems like unnecessary steps and wear.

but it’s dark and not visible at night. Quick forum search gives this PN. Hopefully dealer sells the bulb
