Saw video of that trail up around skyline and looks like it would be fun. Video was mostly jeeps that had something on the side , like off-road highjinks I think. Had a fire engine red jeep that was decked out with red under body lighting in red . 1 of them busted a radiator and had to get it replaced on the trail . :mudding:

I thought it was a Kawi. I have never owned one....don't even recall riding one. I would love to have one of the old military diesel KLR's....not to ride, just b/c of the cool factor. One of mine and Mike's buddies way back when had a ZX6 maybe. @Toyotacrawler What bike did Lawson own.

It was. Kawasaki Ninja ZX9. 900 cc of bad assery, for that year at least. The Yamaha R1 was released that year and I remember racing on the track with a few of those. They were blowing the doors off everybody!

I rode a buddies 2001(I think) GSXR 1000. That thing was absolutely insane. Roll-on wheelies for days  That's the only liter bike I've ridden.

You know as well as I do, it’s 70% rider and 30% bike. There was a guy on an EX 500, that was smoking everyone on their 1000cc bikes. The big bikes would run him down on the straight away, but he would make up for it for much faster corner speeds.

We went to a track day in Talladega and a dude on a 250 2 smoke was throwing it all over the place. He was fast as shit in the corners. A buccy Jeff(owns Autosport) had a 250 2 smoke Suzuki that was imported. Coolest bike I've ever seen in person.

I'm decent enough to know what I'm doing....but nowhere near a professional racer. Those guys are built from a different mold

Most of the guys I rode with were from my unit at the time and they were in to wheelies, stoppies , tricks and all that shit. It takes a helluva lot more skill to ride fast and drag knee, than to ride 6th gear wheelies. Wheelies are easy. Riding fast without killing yourself is not.

I find that most that can really ride a track fast.....can do all the tricks. Tricks take skill....but racing is just a whole different ballgame.

My old roommate was from California and buddies with Jason Britton. He came down from Cali one time......that dude was absolutely insane on a bike. His balance was impressive to see in person.

He rode a GSXR at that time.......so I was a bit of a fanboi

This is the one I ordered. If it will work....just pay shipping and you can use it. If you're close to @Brian422 and he's good with it....just give it to him. I'll get it back when I get the other stuff he has of mine:rofl:

I appreciate it guys, I'm not really close to Bham. By the time I paid shipping there and back I would probably be at half the cost of the tool. I think I'm just going to order this one.

Might even try this first. I have a plethora of punches and hammers (Has been machinist here).
