Replaced the calipers and brake hoses! There was a small leak on the right and brake fluid was getting on the rotor causing pulling, and causing a steering wheel shimmy when braking from 20-0 MPH. Based on the test drive, it appears to be all cleared up! I sprang for the fancy powder coated calipers and the braided hoses. While I was in there, l cleaned up the suspension and finally had the chance to put in the centers I bought two months ago…IMG_3992.jpg IMG_3994.jpgIMG_3990.jpg

Wow, that’s a clean truck and from what I see free of rust. Well done!

    pulled a dead car.

don't know how I feel about the chain but what's done is done.

ARB 30ft snatch strap wasn't gonna work around corners. Too long.
Gonna look into what is actually ideal for such scenarios that is not a metal chain.

like what fabric and what length. 30ft only works in wide open off road where there's lots of room.
Saw HFT has different size Badlands stretch straps all the way down to shortest one 8ft

but they also have non stretch yellow tow/pull straps that may be more suited to this and easier to store

stretch has it's place (and possibly limited uses) and that place I think is a hard yank off road where a vehicle is stuck,
    versus simply dead

nevermind. They only have one non stretch in long 20 ft

didn't want my ARB 30' dragging on the floor either

It's kind of embarrassing when tractor trailers and dump trucks pass me on the highway.

Wash, clay bar, polish twice, and wax. All in time for pollen. Never used a clay bar or polisher before so it was a learning experience.

bought the MacQuires clay bar kit right after I picked my truck up about nine months ago. Never used that method either, but was really happy with the results as well.

nice looking truck btw… considering the softtop as well, got a trifold on mine now.

I've used a cheap 20' harbor freight strap before for towing some friends cars/trucks when they had broken in high school/college. Worked fine but they have to make sure they use the brakes properly so they don't rear end you lol and in the city tried to do it at night when the roads weren't as busy.

Thanks, I highly recommend the softopper. I had a fiberglass cap before this and wouldn't go back to it.

Mind giving a rundown of why? My truck came to me with a fiberglass topper and while I like it, I’m drawn to some of the flexibility of a softopper. Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Ease of removal and installation is the biggest reason. I have a four wheel camper and whenever we used it, it was a pain to take off the fiberglass shell. The softopper is off and on by myself in 5 to 10 minutes at most. I also like being able to fold it down fast if we're out and buy something that wouldn't fit under a hard shell.

Maybe get some soft shackles, you could then turn your 30’ tow strap into a 15’, 10’, etc.

Yes I have 1.5” spacers. Still will have to trim my fenders a little more.
