Hey- lurker here for years- just sold my 2006 Tacoma- and in January of 24 purchased my first ever new vehicle- a 2023 leftover
because I just can’t wrap my head around a 4 cylinder in a truck- time will tell..

It’s a Blue Crush DCLB TRD OR , Premium, Tech and Blackout package. Thus far I added a Decked Drawer System as well as a Decked Cargoglide, Seat Jackers and FJ rims on 265/70/17’s BFG AT KO2’s ( because white letter tires rule)

Learned a lot of lessons on my last build- Can’t wait for this years Overland Expo- still trying to decide which way to go- Go Fast, Alu Cab- AT Overland, Colorado 4x4, OVRLND.. or ? Goal is to keep it inside a 7’ garage

    Future plans do include
    Sliders (Westcott?)
    Receiver mount swing out
    270 degree awning
Either a bed rack or topper
Lighting Diode Dynamics, KC Daylighters or Rigid
Lift will be minimal- Guessing OME
Anywho, glad to be here- hopefully take part in some meet ups in the east valley.

    Welcome aboard!

That blue is gorgeous! I think you made the right decision going with the proven 3rd gen. Of course, I may be a little biased :D

    Welcome,
I'm headed to Montana to get GFC installed in 10 days. More than welcome to meet up if you want an up close look at it.

To me the GFC, Super Pacific and Alucab are really the 3 main options to consider. Each has its positives an negatives ultimately just depends on budget intended use and build plans.

GFC light, simple, strong but bare bones which is great if you are wanting to customize it your way. Also the lowest cost and weight between those big 3. I personally like the looks of the gfc flush panels and the side slope matches the angles of the tacoma well

Super Pac gives some nice upgraded built in features over the GFC makes building it out a little easier. Arguably a slightly better tent. Downside weight cost and IMO looks

Alucab super nice also a slide in so not as many dust/water intrusion concerns over the topper style. Really like how the tent floor pushes up into the roof. The rear door is also cool gives you a spare mount option without needing the weight of swing out rear bumpers. Really an great set up if you're out all the time or making frequent extended long trips. Downside weight and cost

Nice truck I love the little four cylinder just wish I could got it with a 5 speed with the ext cab in the sr without having to go up to a trd.

Nice truck! Those FJ wheels look noice. I also have the GFC, and love it's simplicity & sleekness. Rides nice on the OME suspension too,.

Can't go wrong with any of the ideas mentioned above. Just need to know your needs/wants. If I was doing more long term truck living I'd personally go OVRLND or Alu-Cab.

Congrats on the GFC! I’d love to take you up on seeing it when you get back.

Really appreciate the comments and input from you all- who knows- maybe I’ll start a build thread?

For sure once I get back I'll need to build out the bed a little bit, get my interior lights installed etc

I've got a build thread going. Not a lot of activity but still fun way to remember all the changes
