honestly don’t even know if patch would stick onto black suede the same way it does stock whatever fuzzy carpet type stuff they used.

apparently there’s complaints about 3rd gen headliner not accepting patches being slapped on due to the different fabric.

Never tried it and I can't guarantee it, but I feel like suede might get along with the hooks. When it comes to 3rds gens, alot of owners report back to me that they only have issues with some patches. They're able to get most of them up and stay there. You definitely have to work a little harder to get em up there vs the ease of a 2nd gen headliner

OK, so here’s a question. I bought new pod lights and mounted them on the back of the hood by the windshield as most of you would. However, every time I hit a bump, they wobble due to the brackets being weak. Can anyone recommend some strong sturdy brackets that won’t rust or wobble?
any input would be greatly appreciated.

Today I Discovered that I need to do a full coolant flush in the truck I purchased last week. Green + brown = bad.

    green?

i hope you're not putting green in it

    typically toyota coolant is pink

(of course maybe they have a green universal now IDK)

[EDIT, well hell i don't know now. i tried finding a definative answer and literally it was 50/50, mixing is ok, mixing is bad]

No, the previous owner did. I just bought it a week or so ago and have put about 200 miles on since, i’m sure they “topped it up for the sale” or whatever.

Distilled rad and block flush now, then will replace with pink Peak.

I think I ran like 6-8 gal of distilled water thru mine before the discharge was almost clear. As long as your waiting for the thermostat to open, running your heater to get full circulation and what comes out of the drain is clear or nearly clear - you should be all set. You’ve got the right setup with that funnel system to ‘burp’ the air out.

I was about 6.75 gallons of distilled. I did drain the block each time as well, definitely didn’t think I could get all of it out from the bottom of the block but it came out looking pretty clear at the end (not perfect though but good enough for me).

I did not have any concentrate handy, so did all 50/50. I’ll pick up a quart or so of concentrate this week, drain just a quart or so from the rad, and top off with concentrate. I’m sure there was about 2qts of mostly water in there prior to coolant fill.

    Just some stuff...
I've had these for a couple of years with no issues. Did spray a couple of coats of rustoleum bed liner on them though because the powder coating on them sucked, but the metal definitly isn't flimsy.

Can you elaborate on this? I know a lot of people agree they are overpriced but shit on clones at the same time.

A uniform color is probably ideal. Use one coolant and call it good. Mine is pink colored.

Perhaps the expectations I had on Prinsu where way too high . No instructions, all washers are way too big for the bolts so they sit off. Lots of the washers are discolored and have a bluish shade. Front deflector came scratched. The way the rack sits on the roof it seems to be a generic rack instead of one made just for the Tacoma.
I know it may sound stupid but that thing is expensive and then don't even get me started on accessories......

I think I had heard prinsu was sold some time ago, so perhaps quality control went down the shitter as it essentially always does when the original owner exits the picture?

I could be totally wrong. Actually, I hope I am. I liked the thing a lot when it first became popular on here. Just don’t have a need for a semi permanent roof rack, but thought that if I ever did, I’d get a prinsu

probably up until recently, the deal was
-Sherpa was the same price. Their sport still is. Grand Teton used to be tbicker
-Sherpa used better mounting. Rubber pads.
