Looking for any feed back (negative or positive) on the use of air bags use for assisting rear suspension of 2014 4x4 Tacoma. Will have a backpack slide in camper that is within weight limits.

Airlift package is what I have found to be most appropriate.
Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanx

I have the Firestone kit with Daystar cradles. I pretty much keep them at 30psi and never notice they're there. No sag in the back with a topper and in-bed storage system.

I like mine also. If you think you’ll ever want a ubolt flip kit, it would be a good ideal to do it during the air bag install as you will need to customize the brackets. I had cradles but removed them when I noticed wear spots on the air bags from where the bags make contact with the cradle.

Thank you for the input. The storage in bed you mentioned is that compressor that is needed? I'm still learning about unit and all that is required.

You can run just air bags and a simple hand/bike pump.

You load the truck up, then pump the bags up so they take some of the load and share with the rear suspension. So not back to unloaded but about level front to rear.

You can add on board air monitoring if desired and it can maintain whatever psi you end up on.

No. I meant I have a platform in the bed of the truck that has pull out drawers and storage for all my gear when I hunt or camp.

I pump mine up with the compressor in my garage or a 12v pump I keep under the seat in the cab.

I have the Firestones, Daystar cradles and a Low Range Off Road u-bolt flip kit with custom brackets for the air bags. Great highway ride but the only drawback for me is that, with all the junk in the way, up-travel is limited with this setup, which I've read is limited on our trucks anyway. I hope to go JD Fabrication spring under axle conversion someday with springs rated for my camper and get rid of the air bags.

It sounds good depending on setup I’m just sketched out by the ones I see that do not have a bumpstop and get rid of it entirely by putting an airbag in its place. Feel like I saw a truck bend its frame that way.

currently running archive yellow rear bump kit

    Yeah.
I've used Firestones on my last 2 trucks. They are great for variable loads.

I put Firestones on my 2013 the first summer, and they stayed on the whole decade until last year when I got a new vehicle. I thought they were great for their intended purpose (heavier loads).

Took my time doing the install right and never did another thing with them the whole time, no additional fixing. Worked fine. And yes great for variable loads - had more than one load of dirt and stones that was probably over the limits.

I used the Firestone kit, a U-bolt flip, and Daystar cups all installed in one shot. Made a custom mount for the Daystar base - welded it to the flip kit plate (All Pro).

I've put the bags on other vehicles as well - never had any problems. Overloading the truck axle can occur - use your head!
