    Hey All,

My hood has a pseudo carbon fiber wrap on it that's all jacked up from sun damage and rock chips.

How do I go about removing the burned up decayed wrap?

I know I will have to repaint it after, as my truck is black and the hood is blue (I traded a guy who wanted a Sport hood with the scoop for his non scoop hood years ago).

    Thanks!

Leave it in the sun and use heat gun. If going to repaint just do whatever to get it off.

I briefly worked in a wrap shop and to remove old wraps they used propane torches and plastic razor blades to scrape it off them followed with isopropyl alcohol for any residue left.

That's great if the wrap is still in good condition, but mine is all sun damaged, chipping, peeling, etc. and just looks like cow doody.

Now that its summer in Phoenix, I may not need the heat gun. I'll just let it warm up in the 100+ Degree heat.

That makes a lot of sense. I am also in Phx so I know what damage the sun can do as well. Surprisingly I have PPF and it’s been on 3 years and it’s holding up well.
