Hello everyone first time poster here. I am currently mulling over doing and engine swap, lower and inch or so, also adding on an sc.
Looking to make a project out of my old girl. Here are a few questions
-what engines fit the best with least amount of modifications.
-any good sites for all the odds and ends parts that are good.
Any and all information is appreciated thank you

if you already have a v6 a supercharger is easy power. To really get the most out of it you'll need a standalone ecu. All depends on the power you want. You can go over to the supercharger thread and see some dyno runs from the new supercharger. Anything more then 350whp and you'll probably just wanna swap an ls in it.

    I have the V6 rwd.
I will be sure to look at the sc thread and look at the dynos.

Thank you for taking your time to respond

    Welcome to the Forum!

    Research then do more research.

Having no idea of your skill level where your strong areas are.

Where you live? What is your end Goal?

You have the 5 lug 2WD correct?

We are more about lifting then lowering for the most.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your welcome and advice.
Yes I plan on doing alot of research before I spend the time and money on this project.
I am just a mechanically inclined person who is looking to take on. A project to learn more and to have fun.
I live in new hampshire, and my end goal is to just have a kinda of fun little sleeper for light to light interactions. I'm sure this isn't the best vehicle for this thing and I am aware of it.

    Mine is a 6 lug.

Thank you for taking time to respond

I have done an engine swap 1uz v8 with auto trans from 1993 Lexus SC400 into 1999 tacoma prerunner that was 4cyl with auto, I love it, makes the truck fun to drive. Most any series of the Lexus/Toyota v8 will fit nicely 1uz, 2uz, 3uz, for you i would recomend the 3uz since your fly by wire throttle and no transfer case to adapt to. Check out Lexus V8 of south florida guy has a shop down there and sets up 3uz with auto to run factory ecu stand alone, 300hp factory. Another guy is Kelvin Glover out of New Zealand utube channel Cartunes nz, and 1uz swaps/toyota trucks and four runners on fb.
Set your goals, do some research have fun.

Thank you both for engine suggestions! It is already fun to drive but I'd like to make it alittle more fun especially in light to light.
I find it interesting some of the choices Toyota made in the gen 1s and the variations between the types.
I plan on doing alot of research before I tackle this beast of a project.
