Cole mowed the whole yard yesterday with the small Hustler and it ran great, I was working on the deck and that made me so happy to not have to work on it, again.

Took me a minute to put the context of this post together.

Deck ...as in the one you are building...deck, not the one that cuts grass.

The reason a golf course uses reel mowers is because they actually cut the grass between the reel and the bedknife. A traditional mower with a blade more or less rips the grass apart. Yes it may have a sharp edge, but it's still more of a ripping effect. This product is going to have the same effect, only much more so. So if you care how your grass looks it's a no, but if all you're looking for is convenience then maybe it's something to consider.

I'm not a striper or reverse waggle guy.

It's a farm yard. It gets mowed. Usually at a high rate of speed. As long as it looks cut & its as even as it can be for what it is? That's all we need.

That said: figured these would be like a weed eater head.... Constant adding "line" to them & if you don't have a flip up deck? That would be a PITA.

The not throwing rocks/walnuts & so on would be nice. Putting line on it Everytime you mow?
    That would suck.

I put on a new set of blades usually at the start of the season & run them thru everything & start the next season of stick cutting... Then put on a new set & do it again.

Spare blades can be turned into knifes & machete's!

Those look like a giant hassle. I see maybe, MAYBE two mows of my property then change.......or add string or whatever. I just put some beast blades on. These are the ticket for me. Heavy.

I like heavy blades. At 18,000+ rpm.... Heavy blade don't take no crap from anything. :-0

They also don't care about our siding, windows or the vehicles...

Good news is after 10 years of mowing this place most things are wore down or scalped off.

Now when she leaves the dog balls in the yard? Yikes! Those screaming howler balls really come out the discharge on that ZXT. So do hickory & walnuts.

If you have to defend against a group of people & don't own machine guns.... Just run thru hickory nuts facing their way. :)

So, set out on the road yesterday pretty much all day. Towords the evening saw someone pull over and then take off. Hmmm, whatever. Hour or so goes by I bring it back in the garage and close up shop for the night. Not even 5 minutes later my doorbell rings. Same people that pulled over. Long story short I got $300 for the tiller and it's no longer in my shed. So, now I got $300 towards a new pellet grill/smoker.

I have a bit more taming to do. Those do look nice, but some rocks and spots would do a $number on those. Maybe next go around.

More porch work got done. All cross stabilizing rods are in. Pad is anchored to the beams, beams anchored to supports, all anchored to the wall for the house.

Did some tractor work, cleaned the driveway, washed the truck & ready to do some excavator stuff tomorrow! Taking lunch with the dogs & letting the back have a break.
