How did you run the power wire from the solar panel? Were you able to find the channel we spoke about?

I bought the good industrial 3m dbl stick tape you mentioned. By the time I was wrapping up last night it has justtttt started to drizzle, plus it was also rather "Dewey" out and so I opted not to use dbl stick tape on a wet surface lol. After work today I will clean the cab and stick this on. I ran the ground wire down past the grommet and under the truck. There was a grounding point on the frame I used.

I will make the finishing touches today and tidy up with zip ties etc.

Kiddo has another game today. Had one yesterday and got smacked in the mouth. Hoping for a better result today.

 

Lost 2-0 today.

They have kids reffing these games, and they're afraid to make calls, and when they do they are wrong. The kids that play are never gonna learn to play the game the right way because of these kid refs.

And believe me, I don't like to criticize them because 1) they're kids, and 2) it's a hard job to do.

But if you're not up for the task, don't know the rules and/or don't enforce them then there's no point being there. You're not doing yourself a favor, and you're not doing the kids a favor either because then they're not taught the right rules from the beginning.

 

I need to use that same grommet on the back wall of the Ridgeline. For the tailgate backup camera handle.
To get to that pass through on the Ridgeline:
remove cap, remove sidewall cap, remove bed sidewall, remove panel above rear window, remove bedwall between bed & cab, run wires to pass through.
On the interior - remove rear headrests, remove below rear window trim panel, remove back seats (bottoms & backs), remove seat belts, remove in cab back wall panel, remove something I've forgotten on the floor, remove c-pillar cover, remove rear door sill, lift carpet. Run wire through hole/grommet in rear wall of cab/front wall of bed.

Took a ride last night after it got dark to get dinner. Now everything lights up like it's supposed to.
There are two switches that look dim on one side. Maybe I'll swap in another LED to see if maybe I got a bad one in there.

I still need to put a LED in the PRNDL. I'll have to order some on Amazon.

 

Clearly I have been ignoring this build! So you are putting all of your house lighting and charge controller stuff in that cubbie behind the rear seats? I am definitely excited to do something like this in my future, when I finally get around to building or buying a camper that can sit in the bed.

Yeah so basically my plan is I have almost everything run off of that secondary battery. We will see how the rest of the week goes but if it all goes to plan, I'll order the RSI Smartcap. Once I have that, I will run one more power wire to the bed on the passenger side as there's another grommet there. I already have the fuse block and so I will build a little "power center" where all of my other lights (camp lights, rock lights, rear facing lights, etc), fridge, water tank, compressor, etc will get wired to. Initial plans involve a molle panel and will get placed somewhere in the back of the bed - closest to the cab. I'm also kicking around the idea of an inverter as well which would get mounted on that same molle panel. Ideally I would like to not have anything else with the exception of an upgraded stereo (components and an amp) physically wired to the second battery in that cubby.

 

Oh that sounds like so much fun! If you need anything designed and 3D printed, let me know and I can try to help out, unless you can already do those kinds of things yourself

I've been using the taco as a legit truck so much recently with getting dirt, compost, stone, etc. I'd love to have a fiberglass style cap one day over the bed, but only if I can get a way for it to go on and off easily

 

Cheers man thanks!!! I understand it, but just dont have the time or money to invest in a printer etc. Plus I already have an expensive hobby lol. With the cap, as long as you dont have an infinite amount of crap actually attached to it, they come off rather easily. My situation would not fall into the rather easily category as I will have wires and stuff mounted everywhere. Taking that apart would be a nightmare. Plus with in reason, I can still toss a fair amount of stuff in the bed with the cap on. Add to that the decked drawer system can support 1000 lbs.

 

Finally crossed BAR Pizza off the list yesterday, it always seems to be closed or packed when we've tried to go before. Worth the wait, both the beer and pizza were solid. Some of the best pizza I've had in NH and I only had one beer so I think that's an objective assessment. Incredible weather yesterday too, hope it continues into May, fingers crossed.

Planning to try Reverie in Newtown on Friday, although if it seems less than great we may quickly shift over to Newsylum.
