I've had the basket for about 2 weeks. Finally got some suitable U-bolts and got it mounted to the tractor this morning. Still need to figure a good way to remount the triangular reflector....

I'd try moving the reflector mount to the middle of the baskets.

 

IDK, I guess it depends on what you use the tractor for. When I had mine I was often installing and removing implements on the 3 pt hitch. I can see a situation where parts of my hair and scalp could have been forcible removed from my body and left on that basket, causing me to retaliate.

 

I understand. But currently I don't have anything that attaches to the rear. I did go back and add some reflective tape to it though, to keep from walking into it. Walking from bright sunlight to where the tractor is under the overhang I quickly learned that the basket could be hard to see.

 

Just go buy some d.o.t. tape or just get a SMV sign. (Slow moving vehicle).

That D.O.T. tape (Conspicuity tape) is surprisingly expensive.

I'm thinking more getting involved in attaching an implement, raising my head up in frustration, and BAM.

Zip tie a pool noodle to it to protect yer noodle.

 

I get what you're saying. It's something I thought about, but since I don't actually have any implements for back there I don't know if the basket sticks back far enough (and low enough) to be a hazard.

 

On the subject of boats going on 1 in the morning.

 

Believe me it sticks back there enough to be a hazard, to me and the way I used my tractor. But maybe not to you. And that's cool. To each there own.

Backing up to your basket thing.....

It looks like if you had the top link on it would be in the way of fitting in the lock. But you can always move the catch point on that.

It doesn't look like its in the way for most things you would have back there, hog, box blade, blade, plow, tiller.

It IS in the way though if you reach under to hook up the PTO. You would need to be aware before raising your head up or you would hit it for sure in the situation.

Still its a nice looking basket & we all use our tractors for different things.
For me my tractor does everything at any given time.... along the lines with KR in usage,
but for other people they are just a FEL machine or a mower.

Making the tractor work for YOU is the most important part.

 

I had the same thought process. I like the look and it’s a good amount of space there but I think it would be difficult for me when using the rear PTO and attachments. I’m struggling to find a good solution otherwise though to be fair.
