Hoping to get it working for the summer. Have a trip planned where the extra lumens will be nice on back roads.

Why wait for the weekend? :bananadead:

    With pics..

    1) Done just need to chip up the old tile and clean up the mortar.

    Before:

    IMG_4590.jpg

    After:

    IMG_4626.jpg

    2) bought supplies yesterday and worked on it tonight. Got the shelf framed up and some scrap plywood from the shelf I did earlier this year down for a quick "solution".

I think I need to re-work the right side away from the "fold up and away" function and make this footprint square. That will also work better for the vise mount I am planning on using. I plan on using some 1x2 to prevent things from rolling off the shelf, but this is what I was able to get done in the time I had.

Wife was working late and I had to be quiet-ish. No mitre saw.

    IMG_4632.jpg

Excuse the crudeness of these next two photos:

    IMG_4633.jpg

    IMG_4634.jpg

Rest of the plywood to be finished once I do the above work to make the legs on the right square with the left side.

    IMG_4635.jpg

    3) pending the front room tile and cleanup needed before next week.

    4) see above.

Prep done; walls patched up, sanded and ready for paint, baseboards sanded, wiped down and painted. Entryway closet is ready for a fresh coat of paint, too.

Ready for tile! This room's transformation is gonna be incredible.

Ours gave us notice that everyone's mailboxes have to match; post color, post style, numbers need to be black and post protection added from weed wackers. They are holding off on violations for 60 days. They offered free paint for everyone, too. Took everything apart today and got it done. Even took the time to paint match the heads of the screws for the numbers and metal mailbox.

After we got done, we took the dog on a long walk around the neighborhood and a lot of people have some work to do.

Fuck HOAs. So many other issues and they're worried about the wrong things.

    IMG_4743.jpg

Finished the front closet with a fresh coat of paint and even put a light in there. New front door seals. We have some furniture coming and new fixtures and then we are done.

    Dog approved.

Like always, I tried to do too many things before it rains. Drained my hot water heater, and pulled my front door off the hinges to paint.

got most of the painting done before the rain. Only a couple touchups after. I think its good, but now it's in the HOA hands if it will pass. Color is definitely not the same

Definitely not. Unless they changed colors. Ours is constantly updating the colors homes can be painted.

I filled out the architectural request form, so let's hope they approve it - even after the fact

We did one for our exterior landscaping because our next door neighbor had to remove a bed of river rock and lay sod down. I told my wife to add EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING she wanted because they likely would have no problem approving it as long as we removed our bed of river rock and put sod down too.

That way, they couldn't ever come back and say one thing wasn't included in the request. It all was approved.

What is the blur on the box post..guessing house#?

My folks moved to a 55 plus community in 2010, lived in houses all their lives prior. I went to use the gym with my dad and there was a sign on the door "please turn off lights when you leave..thank you!" My dad shook his head and chuckled. I suggested that if people leave the lights on all night it is wasteful, he snickered and said "I bet that didn't happen. You know who gets on HOA boards, especially this kind? People with no life. Now some jackass is strutting around with their chest puffed out because they hung a sign up"

And yes, it seems like they think about stupid nitpick crap more often than not.

    Yeah, house number.

We attended a meeting or two to get the lay of the land because those responsible for setting a meeting when we first moved in didn't do any of that. A lot of things made sense after our attendance of a meeting or two. Fucking morons.

Can't play by the rules if the rules are not known to the player, seems simple enough. You'd think those people would have some kind of handbook etc on the stuff

Sunday was meant to be a relaxing day..but we managed to get a few things done.

First up was finishing the workbench shelf. Took the legs off, spacer blocks out and made the legs square all around:

    IMG_4750.jpg

Next up will be finalizing the vise mount and then purchasing a vise. Thinking about a 6" Irwin or something similar from harbor freight. Need some bigger clamps from harbor freight for bigger projects, too so 2 birds kinda thing.

Next, we got the grass cut out front. Need to do some more landscaping clean up this weekend.

Next, last weekend when removing the old thinset from the front entrance, I was burning through M18 batteries. I only have 3 and it's been ok until last weekend. I have more DeWalt batteries than Milwaukee because my wife has a DeWalt weed wacker from her house and then I would pick up a pack or two of DeWalt batteries when they were on sale. So, I committed a cardinal sin..

    IMG_4749.jpg

The adapter needs a little work to fit to the Milwaukee tool securely, but I was able to test it out while working on the workbench. Not bad for $12 on Amazon.

The wife would like to get a new lawnmower, so might be considering a battery powered one where the M18 battery supply might be increasing. But the issue is that the grass here is so thick that the lawnmower needs to be powerful enough to handle the lawn. It's not a big (size) job but the thick, full grass is a beast.

Next, the wife said that I should get a router for wood projects, too, so, I might be looking to get ANOTHER battery if I decide to go that route over corded.

Finished the day/weekend with a DIY pizza in our wood fire oven:

    IMG_4757.jpg

    It was a good weekend.
