The cold coming downslope is terrible. We were not aware of it when we planted. After a couple years we know it well. We can even see the freeze pattern in the grass

Yeah i dunno, much about it. Some say to remove the whole plant root and all.

I'd Bleach any tools used to remove the plant

I am seriously considering digging it up and putting it in a 5-gallon bucket then away from my other berries while trying to treat it. That would prevent any possible spread to the rest of my berry patch.

    Thanks for the invite @Casper66

Not much of a gardener myself, but dipping my toes back in it this year. Made a raised bed/bucket stand, consisting of 10 5 gallon buckets with drain holes. Planted some squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos, poblano peppers, and couple other things I'm forgetting at the moment.

Haven't read through the thread any yet, but anybody have some good homemade salsa recipes? Hoping to take advantage of all these peppers and tomatoes!

My favorite salsa is made from Cherokee purple tomatoes and Mrs. Wages medium salsa canning spices. Perfect balance of heat and taste. I started canning salsa in wide mouth 1.5 pint jars, since 1 pint jars get emptied in one sitting.

For tomato processing get this: ttps://www.amazon.com/Weston-Strainer-Tomato-Vegetables-07-0801/dp/B0000BYDR1
Use the screen with the largest holes (marked "salsa"). Takes the skin off.

We use it for everything, from making salsa to pasta sauces, apple sauce, apple butter, pear sauce, pear butter, blackberry jelly. I've posted pics in this thread of making applesauce with it.

Burned some brush/pruned tree limbs last week. Putting ash back on the pit-producing trees (peach, nectarines, plums). They love ash.
Blackberries and blueberries are loaded with fruit.
Need to move 2 of of the raised beds this month. (4'x10'x16"). I had built it outside the fence trying to get the Rhubarb going in the shade, but it is just too hot for it in GA. Cannot use it for anything else, it gets eaten. tried putting potatoes in, and these plants got eaten too. Moving it will be a big job, but it is $600-$800 worth of lumber I do not want to give up.
