Did you replace the spindle seals or just reused the old ones?

I follow that guy on IG, and i cant wait to see that thing completed! I've joked about finding a VT365 the V6 version of the 6.0 and then doing something similar

I don’t have any experience with Monstaliner - I ran this Raptor coating thru a spray gun at 46-50psi. I’ve seen roll-on bedliner that looked really good - pretty sure there is a specialty roller cover for the textured coating. Its all in the prep for whatever you decide to use.

Got a lot done this weekend!

Started by replacing the rear shocks with a brand new set of 5100's off of FB Marketplace for $125. Definitely helped with sag and ride from the old, tired stock shocks. Now just need to find a set for the front!
    IMG_6030.jpg IMG_6029.jpg

Picked up some 4RNR wheels off of FB Marketplace as well and had a new set of Cooper Evolution M/T's from a previous CL deal. Have a total of like $900 or so dollars in these and it makes this truck look perfect to me!

Oh, and I replaced my spare tire with a full size spare and the same Cooper Evolution M/T!IMG_6031.jpg

Only thing left to do for awhile, other than the front suspension - is maybe a paint matched grille surround, maybe a TRD Pro style insert, can't decide.

That is the perfect truck and the perfect color. I would have kept the pyrite mica 2012 but I gave my son the choice and he didn't like blue. It was bittersweet because the blue 2008 does have exceptional low miles and the 2012 had 140k when I sold it to him 3 years ago (now over 180k and still runs/shifts like new). I also bought a new 5th matching T4R wheel, tpms sensor and tire. 2008 has a spare tire sensor. We did put low mileage 3rd gen leaf springs on the 2012 recently and improved the ride and lost the spring squeak. I strongly recommend the 3rd gen Off Road struts and coils. My 2008 rides excellent with them.

New calipers, rotors, pads from Detroit Axle and 5100s up front on Saturday.
Did the bleed and got the alignment done that day.
New cabin and engine air filters.
Having functional brakes and suspension feels amazing.
Today I received the new shift knob I found on etsy. All the way from Lithuania.
Enjoying driving this a ton now after putting the work in to make it my own. Still lots to do.

Thank you! I already love this truck more than my third gens (even tho they were good trucks, there is something better I can’t put my finger on with this 2nd gen). Thanks for the input! I think I am going to keep my eye out for a set of leaf springs from a 3rd gen and front coils from a TRD OR. The ride was improved by the rear shocks, but definitely could be tightened up more.

Thanks man! And I’m definitely torn - I really like the looks of it as is. And when it comes down to it I would probably rather spend that money towards more suspension upgrades etc. lol

Shifter looks good. How’s it shift?

Tried various shift knobs before and found that some despite looking good, in practice either don’t grab in the hand well and/or not weighted the right amount to work well
