Door Sill Rust

Just noticed this on the driver's door sill in my '17 Tacoma (69k miles). Any suggestions how to tackle this and ensure it doesn't grow? There's no rust on the other door sills.

 

You’ll have to find the source and get it all out. Start peeling back interior pieces and see if it’s something you want to tackle. It could be superficial or could be worse.

 

I unclipped the plastic pieces on mine and cleaned up that area. Spray it with some CRC rust inhibitor. Otherwise the entire pillar need to be resprayed. Mines on both front sides too.

 

There's a TSB for this. Supposed to only be fixed under 3/36 but some guys had Toyota still cover it after that. Worth trying and see what they say.

Thread back from the dead. I was cleaning my '19 out the other day and saw all 4 door sills have some light bubbling in the flat areas. 59k and 4.5 years so I'm out of luck. Dammit.
