My Toyo AT3 SLs are starting to get a bit worn down. I'm at 6/32nds on average with regular rotation. On my last excursion to Utah, and running Elephant Hill, the outside lugs did chunk out a bit, but I felt like I still had plenty of traction for the most part.

I have a trip planned in October for The Maze, and I'm debating if this will be the last hurrah for my tires, or if I should buy new ones (probably MT Baja ATs or KO3s, maybe AT4Ws) for the trip. These tires have taken me over a number of passes throughout CO, and into western UT a few times. Never any trouble with them, but maybe it's time to move on. The frugal side of me still says I should try to get a bit more out of them though.

    Pics below for reference.

From the pictures I’d say it’s a GOOD idea to get them replaced

Age of tire is important too. If they are 5 years or older I would replace. My treads still look new on my LC with Falken at3w. I have a second car so don't drive it all the time. Tires are 3 years old.

I'm roughly 25k on the same Toyo AT3's, 265/70/16. I'd be surprised if they make 30k. Same issue with outside edge wear/cupping. Noticeable slipping in rain and they've gotten very loud.

I'm going to replace them very soon with Goodyear Duratrac RT.

Also have a fair bit of dry rot/cracking between the tread grooves.

Stock, but not stock (but stock)
Just a tad bit of meat above the wear indicator

I've had them for three years, and they do seem to have worn quickly. I only have 21k on them. I've looked into a warranty claim, but that does look like that will pan out, as I've rotated them myself and Sam's Club doesn't appear to want to help me out for that reason. I get the sense from other sob stories, that warranties aren't worth anything (to much hassle), so no more Toyos for me, or buying tires from Sam's Club. Lessons learned.

    FWIW,

30k is typical lifespan with standard rotation intervals for just about all the tires you've mentioned (Toyo, falken, bfg) from the posts I've read. Manufacturers warranty of "up to" is a common complaint.
