Just for kicks I built a 2023 as she’d want it. $45K plus tax and dealer fees makes it about $49K out the door. Our current truck will be $33K with sales tax, so $16,000 less to buy this one out. I would buy the extended warranty on either one, so that isn’t worth considering. Of course a new truck would have new tires and all wear parts, 3 more years of warranty, etc. The only major change I’d consider on another truck might be the 6’ bed.

Glad I found this thread, I have a 2021 Army Green Limited with 32K miles with a buyout of also 32K in March (used prices of a 21 Limited are way higher in Maine). Not alot of mods, LED lighting in interior, bed mat, letter inserts, Durtatrac tires) I was considering leasing a new 2024, but I know being early in will win me no deals. I have babied this Tacoma, love the color, have had it undercoated yearly, and work a remote/hybrid life.. I guess I will buy it out, and consider a Gen 4 in a year or two.. thanks all.

For that mileage I'd definitely keep it. No sense in changing unless it doesn't serve your needs.

Just bought out the lease yesterday, 4K in equity (that was just the dealer numbers, outright 8k plus?), the numbers for a new Limited lease were scary.. so I purchased it, and have treated it since day one like it was mine for a long time, going to get my annual rust check application today, and will reassess in the spring on next steps.. I almost stopped at the Nissan dealer, but felt guilty ;)
