nah, don't spend money .40S&W casings usually drop over most valve caps. some just need a small wrap of electrical tape. or some glue. but most push down and its good to go and I've never "thrown" one in the years I've been using them.

@pdxTacoSR5 you're in PDX what part?, I guarantee I have .40S&W brass somewhere, I can find you some casings.

thanks...no need. (SW - unincorporated Cooper Mtn) just did a test case with 9mm. fits like it was made for it. i will put a drop of glue on stock caps and use 9mm. thanks for suggestions and offers.

awesome, some caps will fit a 9mm and looks like you found some that dropped right in. might be worth s small tap with a hammer to get that thing to seat a bit further down and keep it from coming off

i did not think it would tap in. it appeared to be a collar. but it did. and now i can't get it out to glue it in. so i went out to get the other caps and with my luck, one was rogue and does not fit. my random collection of caps and even on other vehicle does not work.
i will look at spare when i feel like dealing with it. at least 3 will get the 9mm brass. i have plenty of brass should they somehow come off but doubtful after the tap.

edit: as i remember, years ago i had toyota care rotate my tires. came back without a cap so i put one of my own on. should have filed with toyota corporate. :D

So i found a useable cap on the spare, as per quote of my own post. 4 wheels have brass.
but the real reason for THIS post is something i did years ago.
flip the spare around so you can air check/fill it without lowering it. i think i may have seen this idea on the forum but not sure.

Without a doubt the best mod I have done is getting that carista phone app that lets you turn on/off the features in the truck. I turned off the seatbelt chime and OMG it makes such a difference in quality of life. Just plug in and you can flip the features on and off. The stealership can do it for you, but they tend to be assholes. I think I paid for one month of service then cancelled.

Couldn't be easier, 1000% worth it. Still have the seatbelt lights on the dash, but no annoying buzzer that does nothing but make you angry.

I always wear my seatbelt, mostly because I like feeling snugged down and not sliding around in my seat, however I'm an adult and don't need more nagging in my life.

My dealership flat out refused to disable my seatbelt chime, so I caved and bought a carista. I'll probably never use it again, but it was well worth the money.

@willconltd @Okkine 2.0 You can use the app to program new tpms sensor ids (with $10 pay/cancel subscription), but the dongle can be used for apps like OBD Fusion.
    Just some ideas
