Starter battery is 6 months old and the aux is roughly a year old. Stays around 13.8 and is also managed a redarc BCDC managed with Solar.

My random restarts were fixed by bypassing the Maestro RR for Pioneer power.

So there's several threads about the oem radio rebooting randomly. Some claim battery issue, phone contacts and pairing needs to deleted and re entered, happens when the brake is pressed and is related to the electronic brake booster on the off-road trims (my current issue), some claim the radio is on its way out and some claim loose connections. Some replaced the radio with an aftermarket one and the issue went away. That's what I'm planning on doing soon.

Hopefully, someone can chime in with a resolution and your 6600 isn't on its way out.

Do you have photos or a guide on this?

I considered sending it off for repair but having a hole in the dash for a week or two would be annoying. Also considering finding an Entune 3.0 or buying a Sony. I’ve never had their stereos but their headphones are amazing.

The DSP on Sonys other products is legit. It’s a shame LDAC hasn’t caught on more. Pioneer just nailed the form factor on the 6600 for entune equipped vehicles.

yup! I’ve had it a few times. BUT…That’s better than the Amp Error I get which basically renders it useless until the truck is shut off and restarted.

I found this on AVIC411 to bypass the Maestro power. I’ll give it a shot and report back. I’ll also flash the maestro to disable the TSS / BSM since the old bumper is gone.

“Made a jumper from the black/red wire to the red wire from the radio and capped the end going Into the RR per Maestro support. This will isolate the issue if it’s actually maestro related or radio related. Pretty sure the power goes directly to the radio now and not though the maestro. We’ll see if this fixes it.”

This workaround solved that guys problem.

Yeah no problem. That’s the forum where I found folks having reboot issues. Affected me on my W4400NEX and the WC6600. I believe it’s resolved in future RR software / harness revisions.

Installed the 6600 this weekend in my 2020 non-JBL. Thank you to everyone posting here as it helped immensely.

I'm still working on my front camera (Nakita). Removed my GEMES mainly because the amount of wiring rats nest behind my dash gives me the shakes.

After the initial setup and a refresh of the Maestro I'm not sure why this wasn't my very first mod. I have Kicker 4ohm coax speakers in the doors and the Subaru tweeters in the dash. For those who want a comparison my stock ENTUNE was at 8-10 for normal listening and now the 6600 is at 4-5 and is much more clean.

Currently I have the Pioneer mic in the overhead console, and yes the stock one is rear of the driver visor. I'm going to see how it works otherwise go with an aftermarket option.

I think my only question at this stage is, without jamming them in the dash, what is the most reasonable way to package the wiring, Maestro box and XM receiver behind the dash?

Thanks again. The information was invaluable.

I can take some photos when I take mine apart again but the white box behind the radio is a good spot for the maestro and XM dongle. If I didn’t make a wire loom, the void above the glovebox would have been a good spot for cables.

If anyone is interested, I have a Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX for sale. It comes with all adapters, iDataLink Maestro RR, andeverything needed for installation in a 3rd gen Tacoma. The 6600 and 7600 have thesame screen size, etc. The 7600 is XM-ready, so no extra adapter is needed. If you're interested, please message me. Also, it still has warranty left. Unfortunately, I wrecked my Tacoma.

This is mainly for those who may search this post in the future, as I did just recently for my 6600 install.

I had the GERMES ATC and wanted to forego it, as there is entirely too much wiring with the new Pioneer behind the dash. I'm also running a Natika camera.

I was having an issue connecting this to the Pioneer, as a few years have passed since I installed it with the GERMES. Here is what I found and what I did. Hope it helps.

My Natika was wired to the GERMES ATC module behind the ENTUNE radio. In this installation neither the positive or negative lead near the camera 4-pin connector needed to be connected. The power for the camera came from the little red lead off of the yellow RCA which was run behind the radio.

Initially I did not recall not connecting the power and ground wire, this is mainly because these connections with the GERMES appear to be done through the GERMES tee harness. So after some diagnosis and locating the positive and negative wires (they were zip tied in the engine bay under another harness to keep things clean), this is my method of connection.

Red wire at the 4-pin connector near the camera = NOT USED
Black wire at the 4-pin connector near the camera = GROUND IN ENGINE BAY
Red wire at the yellow RCA behind the dash = SPLICED INTO A +12V ACCESSORY (SWITCHED) POWER WIRE
Yellow RCA cable = BROWN RCA LABELED SECOND CAMERA INPUT

Thanks to everyone who posted here. I found everything I needed in this post.

Consequently I have a Motorola MA-1 and a GERMES ATC system available, but apparently I do not have 50 posts of substance. Cross posted to another site as well. DM for info.

Hello, I've installed my setup as shown in the diagram.
It says that the steering wheel control cable is not required.
Either way, I have tried with and without it and I still am not able to get the steering wheel control working. Additionally, my reverse cam does not trigger full screen when shifting to reverse. I have purple/white connected to purple/white.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Or is it something I am doing wrong? I have both firmware updated.

    EDIT:
    Thanks to
    NIU_Huskies

I have found that there is an additional harness to be connected coming from the truck. This makes a total of 4 factory radio harnesses which are not reflected in the diagram. There is only 3(step 3)

Not sure what year your truck is, but mine did not use a connector from the truck either. Also I recall two connectors from the truck were similar to the maestro harness, but only 1 was the correct one to plug-in.

Not sure if it helps, but I have two different PDFs that are different from the current ones. Downloaded a few years ago when I did my installs. I'm pretty sure I have revision 1.8 of the TO2 harness.
