Took the truck into Camelback Toyota for what I thought was the 15k mile oil change but it was done at 10k so not due until 20k. All they did was rotate the tires and try to sell me a TON uf upgades or service items that were necessary but at $tealership Prices.

So.... Since I like the DIY route:
    1. What are you using for a Fuel Treatment?
    2. What are you adding to the Oil as an Oil Treatment?
    3. What Air Filter are you using (Stock box)?
    4. What In-Cabin Air Filter are you using?

Anything else I should be looking at?

    And yes - I searched.

Leaning towards none on the Fuel / Oil too.
If anything I'll just go get an oil change and let fresh, new, clean, oil be my oil additive.

    Stuff.. but not much
I didn't use anything for the fuel or oil but I use K&N for the air & cabin filters. No horsepower gain or anything from using them, I just prefer them. Nothing wrong with OE filters.

I just do not want to pay K&N for air filters. Wix from O'Reilly ... which is expensive enough as is.

I don’t use any fuel or oil treatments on my Tacoma, and I just use the OE filters.

in my SAABs, I’ve tended to run Liqui-Moly ceramic oil additive. But then, a stout Japanese truck is a different beast than a temperamental European sport sedan.

It doesn't need anything at that mileage.

Change the oil, check the paper filters, put gas in it and drive

And so this story takes an unusual twist - well maybe not unusual, but a twist I didn't expect.

I asked about Fuel Treatment, Oil Treatment, Air Filter, In-Cabin Air Filter because along with the 4 wheel alignment (which I also turned down) these were the things the dealer said were a "MUST DO." And they got a little freaky when I politely declined. I went ahead and bought a Wix Engine Filter (it has an odd little pre-filter pad on it) and a Bosch HEPA Filter for the cabin.

When I pulled the Engine Air Filter it was Toyota OEM and looked nearly new. I tapped it on the pavement and a little dust fell out but it looked fine. So I dropped the new filter in and blew the old filter out with the air compressor. Going to save it back as a spare.

The in cabin air filter had very little debris on it but looked green and black so I swapped it but didn't keep it as a back up.

I've been going with OE just because I'll jump on a sale and get them for the same price of aftermarket filters. With that said I've also used Purolator, Mobil 1, Bosch etc air/cabin air/oil filters without concern.

Recommending an engine air filter at only 15K is (in most cases) attempted robbery. I had mine out yesterday and at 22K it still looks like new. When I was a dealer tech the air filter was always part of the 30K service and even then they looked pretty clean. Buy a quality synthetic engine oil and a good filter and don't bother with any supplements. Personally, if they tried to sell me all that stuff at 15K it'd be the last time they saw me.

    1. I just use a name brand fuel system cleaner every oil in the next fill up. Techron is a good one but not brand loyal. BG products are good, Lucas is ok too.
    2. No additive. Just use a good oil and change it regularly, I'm using Supertech 0w20.
    3. Regular paper air filter, Wix, Fram, purolator all ok. I use OE oil filter
    4. Supertech or whatever cabin filter I can find on Amazon, there is a charcoal one on Amazon for like $12 that works fine

First mistake: taking it to the dealer.... especially Camelback.
Warren Buffet doesn't need any of my money. He owns all those Camelback dealerships.

I bought from Camelback but use Yota Pros to do all my work.
    7144 S Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85283

Good people - good work done right - reasonable prices.
I take mine there every 5,000 miles for oil change/ tire rotation.

i would highly advise against using oiled engine air filters. Absolutely zero performance gains. They do add a bit of a noise but thats all.

I used to love my TRD oiled air filter but until i discovered a fine layer of dust in my intake tube, that POS went straight into garbage.

I agree, use a non-oiled filter for better filtration.
