I'm sorry if this is a well beat horse. I've tried searching and have not found what I'm looking for. I'm sure this has been covered perhaps I'm not searching for the right words.

I've got a 2009 double cab 4×4. It's currently riding on ome 885's on bilstein 5100's up front and dakkars and 5100's rear. This is a good setup except I now have an ARB bull bar and winch on the front. From what I can find out I need stiffer springs such as 886 and my 5100 shocks are not adeal for them.

What is a good shock to pair with 886 springs? I am trying to stay at less than 3 inches of lift to avoid the problems that that can lead to. My truck does go off road and I will need it to perform well on and off road.

I've had much better experience with the reliability of OME shocks than i did with 5100s. I have OME springs on all 4 corners (885 up front) and was having issues with the Billies blowing out. Replaced 2 sets of rears and 1 set of fronts in 5 years. Switched to OME and no issues. I spend a lot of time driving off pavement around MT, and have been really happy with the OME setup.20240907_195904.jpg

I had a set of OME Nitros and 886s. While I don’t have an issue with the performance of them, the OME paint flakes off really easily, and the shocks themselves developed a squeaky where the plastic roost guard rubbed on the shock body.
