A bed mat is definitely an option. The dealership will also offer a spray in bed liner that has a nice, non-slip texture. I looked at a few at the dealership, and they seemed really nice.

My biggest concern is how long it will hold up. The plastic, er, composite bed is very slick and shiny, so I am not convinced that anything sprayed in will adhere properly - over time that is...

I was able to order the OEM 4th gen long-bed mat yesterday. I did receive an invoice from both Toyota and then again from the local dealer. We'll see if I get a shipping confirmation. I'd been told by the parts manager at two different dealers that the code in their system indicated they were going through a vendor change with no expected date for availability. I was also told there were no long-bed mats available for the 2nd and 3rd gens due to the same code. None of them could confirm the bomb-cyclone/hurricane/tornado fire that took out the original vendor's facility.

I ordered the accessory using my VIN directly from Toyota at https://autoparts.toyota.com/?et_rid=933468255&et_cid=5020724&mid=300009731352364&siteid=DMG_RLA_EM:TPCOBF_NOV24_3.0::NOV24:EM1_BlackFridayTPCONOV24_Initial:202411&eid=2100031306758&tdesc=z2_accessories_parts--online_cta_24138

    The part number is PT90C-35241-02

The retail on the mat was $190 less 25% for the linked deal. The local vendor took another $35 off. Total price shipped to my door is $116.00

They should stick fine. It’s available as a port installed option.

I bought one off Amazon. It’s no where near the thickness of the oem toyota one, do unweighted might fly out.

The OEM bed mat showed up. So, I guess they are widely available. Worth the wait for the OEM and at $116, a good price for a necessary accessory.

I had a bed mat included in the deal when I bought my long bed in April. It arrived yesterday.

I have the "OEM" spray on. It's very nice. Would still prefer a bed mat. I have a topper; having to kneel in the back is brutal on the knees.

i can report that crawling around one's knees on the OEM mat is not a painful experience. I have a non OEM bed mat in the 2nd gen that is much more thin and is indeed an uncomfortable experience.

I’ve had 3 Tacomas and never used a bed mat. I have multiple tie-downs and bungees on all the hooks and cleats. Rarely is sliding cargo an issue for me luckily…

Without the bed mat I find the Costco toilet paper always ends up at the front of the bed after the 100km drive home..lol

I am probably confused, but a couple of questions: I want an OEM long bed mat for my new 6' Tacoma. Can someone let me know if they are available? What is the part number? Can one be purchased on line without having to mortgage your house to pay shipping? Dealer I got the truck from said they don't have any and they seemed confused as to the part number. I have read all sorts of conflicting info

Yes. I purchased one as referenced in my post above. The part number is PT90C-35241-02. I ordered from Toyota parts.com. Paid $116.

This is the primary reason I'm thinking about getting one. Noodling around back there is awful. I've been thinking of keeping a pair of rug layer's pads under the back seat with my tiedowns and stuff.

I had the 3rd gen mat cut to fit in mine but now have a TripleALiners one in there, fit and finish are great, won't really be able to test how I like it until spring when I start camping again, their floor mats are nice though.

I had a 6ft mat included in my deal when I bought the truck in April. It arrived early December. So I guess they are available now. At least in Canada.20241206_122820.jpg

When I ordered mine through Toyotaparts.com it was routed through a local
Dealer who gave an additional discount.

Thanks for the responses. I will see what I can come up with here is Massachusetts. For what its worth, I found a fairly good fix for the sloppy glove box door. Not sure its its else where on this site. On Amazon, you can get a couple of small inserts for the door jamb? that snug up the door to a pretty decent tightness. I had to wrap a small piece of electrical tape around the stub to keep it snug in the hole but it works pretty good.
