Good evening I am Juan from Florida, I have a Tacoma 2nd Gen. Access Cab. I had added 2 inches lifting block in the rear of my truck and instate of lifting it now looks lower; I noticed that my truck has the leaf springs under the axel. Is that would make a different?
need some advice how to proper lift my truck without losing my socks.
    thank you in advance.

Yes, if you put the block between the axle and leafs that are beneath the axle, you are lowering your truck. To lift, you should flip your U bolts (I believe there's a kit to purchase) and do a "SOA" or suspension over axle mod. This will give you an inch or so, and then you can put those blocks between the axle and leafs.
An alternative is adding leafs to the leaf pack so it will sit higher, but this will also make the truck ride stiffer.

By doing a spring under axle modification, a previous owner lowered the truck. If you swap back to spring over axle, as mentioned above, your truck will be at stock ride height. Then you can decide if you want to lift it more.
I'm not positive, but I don't think you can put the axle on top of stock springs. You may need to replace the springs for this, but I could easily be wrong. It happens often.

thank you to all that respond my question, now I have an idea what went wrong. I watched tons of videos in YouTube, but no one mentioned about reversing the U bolt. thanks.
