Super simple install for convince and ease of use. It will also come in clutch if you generally camp at paid campsites. So know you can easily charge the battery at the site. I plan on doing some research for a solar connection as we really don't camp at paid sites regularly. We are on the primitive life.

    Nice video!

I went with the NOCO Gen5X1 because it has lithium-battery capability should I ever need or want that. Approximately the same size & form factor, but the Gen5X1 has a 5-amp charging output vs. 2-amp for the Genius 2D.

Very bold of you to drill a hole in fender for plug mount. Currently I just have the 3-prong plug for the NOCO run out through the truck's front grille with some zip ties holding it in place.

How is that plug + cover holding up at freeway speeds & during off-roading? Is it stiff enough that it stays 100% in place at all times? I'd be a bit concerned that wind or vibration might shake it loose.

Thanks, so far no issues. Stays in place on the trails and the highway. It has stayed as tight as when it was first installed. No issues yet with the pulling off of the plug, has not come loose.

I had one drilled/mounted into the side of my ARB bumper on my old ‘02 for years and never had any issues with the cap coming loose. Freeways, offroad, it stayed on for it all. I’m pretty impressed with the quality of Noco’s stuff, and that includes their plug.

Did a little different install, as I didn't want to touch apart that will cost me 100s of $ to replace.

No extra noise up to around 90mph, suggesting no significant aerodynamic impact at that location. Didn't go faster than that to now but don't expect any change either.
