Just hit 350K miles on my 2nd Gen Taco! Everything is running great and smooth but I am curious if there is anything special I need to do maintenance wise at this stage? Everything is original with no failures up to this point,( thank you very much Toyota)! Any suggestions on maintenance or things to boost the life of my truck?

Do any prescribed maintenance that has been skipped.

Depending how far from home you go and how much of a DIY'r you are, there could be some PM that would be helpful and lower risk.

IE, when was the complete cooling system last (if ever) overhauled? Not just coolant, but all hoses, water pump, radiator, tstat, etc.

If the vacuum hoses are original, it's probably time to freshen them up.

@Clearwater Bill thanks! Those things have not been completed so I am going to look into getting it done! No leaks up this point, and don’t want any!

Im currently sitting at 330k on my 2009 DCSB.

I recommend going OEM for hoses and belts.

Upgrading the body mounts and rad mounts to energy suspension urethane bushing really tightened up a lot of slop and knocking under braking.

Watch the radiator cap as mine started to leak last year. It’s an easy replacement.

Don’t forget to replace sway bar end links and tie rod ends if they haven’t been done so already. I kept thinking my tires were out of balance but it was just bad end links and tie rod ends.

I replacement my transmission filter a few years ago as proactive maintenance with 250k on the trans (regular trans fluid changes every 60k) and I say it wasn’t worth it. It was super clean and the magnets had very minimal fines on it.

I added extra weather sealing around the doors and it lowered the wind noise by 10db. Totally worth it if you’re a high mileage daily driver.

As long as you stick to the maintenance schedule, you’ll get another 350k out of your truck.

Really good advice @Bishop2Queens6! My mechanic also recommended adding Seafoam to the gas tank every other oil change to keep the engine clean. That’s been done religiously as well.

I forgot to mention that I did get an engine light for the catalytic converter a few hundred miles back but it hasn’t reappeared. Curious if anyone upgraded or changed their catalytic converter at this point? If so did you go to Dynapro?

Do you happen to have any info/pics on the extra weather sealing?
