I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma V6 at 50k miles. Toyota dealer sold me ATF T-IV for power steering drain and fill. Is this acceptable to use?IMG_5649.jpg

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Manual calls for Dexron III compatible fluid. Does the back of T-IV list that compatibility? Would the dealer be willing to put in writing a warranty if your rack or pump go out after the change?

No reason to reinvent the wheel where there are plenty of compatible options out there, probably for way cheaper they sold you those. I used the Valvoline Dex/Merc which carries Dexron III compatibly and have had zero issues.

You'll be fine for a power steering application. If you're worried about then i'd say either go to walmart and get a fluid that say Dex III compatible or flush the system with an extra litre first.

For the record, i've been running Pentosin CHF-202 for 200'000kms+ with no noise, leaks or issues at all from -44*C to +37*C. The power steering system on these trucks are very flexible fluid wise

From what I know, manual calls for Dexron II/III, and while Toyota one is yellow, aftermarket one is normally red.

I wish they'd stop using the DEX III term, it hasn't been made in years.

Its confusing to people trying to do the right thing but are unaware of alternatives.

I like it. It's what I ran in my 96 Miata to solve a foaming problem I had running technical auto x courses. Worked great!
