Touch Screen Freezing 3rd gen Tacoma

Hello all,

I recently had an issue with the touch screen not responding. Bluetooth hook up still works just fine, even shows the song changing when I use the phone to do so, the touch screen buttons will not work tho. This includes the Home and Audio buttons on the left side. When I stop the car and restart it I guess "rebooting" the computer it works just fine. Anyway to do this without turning the car off? Or a better long term fix?

 

See if your dealership cares at all. 8/10 times they won’t be able to “verify the problem” so they’ll send you on your way.

pull the actual radio fuse up at the battery (Radio No.1) and wait about 30 seconds and pop it back in. This will clear any temporary funny business going on, but won’t solve any deeper problem. I would also see if there is a firmware update available

 

Thanks! I had browsed the forum and found a couple suggestions or also do hard resets by pulling various wires. Ill check on that firmware update too.

Just do this update and check if it fixes it. it was a problem i had

2021 Tacoma Trd sport. Out of warranty. Issue! freezing cluster. Disconnect the battery and it works again. Happens randomly. Anyone figured this out? Truck has the newest update. Update was done with laptop before I had it tuned But issue has happened way before the tune. So update didn’t fix it.
