The wheels or the tires? Either wheel will do. I prefer the Matte black SEMA. Those tires look to be E-rated. I don't recommend E-rated tires for daily commuting. Stick to SL in whatever tire size you choose.

For the tires, I've only had the RT Trails a couple days, but love the look! They are quite on the road, only slightly louder than the Toyo AT3 I replaced. Time will tell how long they last and how well they do off-road.
As for the wheels, I really like the all black wheels, tires, and trim on my cement color Taco. I feel the silver on gray would have been too much for my taste. But I do with the matte black was easier to keep clean...

The wheels/tires on the left are on my truck and are SL. I didn't want the weight of the E for my commuting.

Apologies for not clarifying...I meant the tires for Daily Driving...which one is better for daily.

The wheels, on the other hand...I think the Silver would contrast better with my Midnight Black Sport.

Okay, so "E-Rated" are not recommended for daily driving....got it!

Yeah, for your color truck, the Black is perfect.

For me...too much black is kind of a turn-off...the silver would contrast it better, IMHO.

As for the tire, I don't want noisy/knobby tire sounds as I'm driving.

So, which aggressive looking tire has a quieter tone?

I do like the black tires. A very classic/traditional look for tires. :)

Installed a Pop and Lock tailgate lock.
Took 30 minutes to run the wire, I had it follow the existing wires on top of the frame and going over the gas tank, and then less than 5 minutes to install the actuator and wire connections.

Finally no more worrying about some one stealing my tailgate, especially since I have an out of production Mobtown tailgate reinforcement panel on there.

And since I had it apart I swapped out the button head bolts with washers (picture 1) on the tailgate panel for some low profile bolts (picture 2), so hopefully stuff will stop snagging on them. Only took me 5 years to decide to do that.

As opposed to white lettering tires?

I think I would prefer the solid black too...no offense to those who like the white lettering. :duel:

Spent the day yesterday installing some air box mods, and SoftTopper. Tip- Wait until a warm day to install a SoftTopper. This thing was a bear to stretch, it took me and my neighbor to get the last snaps on either side done.

I already posted the details about the intake here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-air-intake-mod.803996/page-3

Was cleaning it up to get all the winter salt off and put on the Ark micro flaps on the front when I found this damage. I bought some aftermarket flaps when I first got the truck and it’s just another lesson of buy once cry once. They looked similar to OEM, but I doubt OEM cause this. No big deal, but posting for others looking to buy mud flaps.

    Current set up: 265/65R17

    Future set up: 275/70R17

The Toyo's has bigger contact patch pattern than the K02s...does that make it ride quieter?

Also, I'm told E rated tires are No Bueno for Daily Drivers.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I wouldn't say they are a no-go. They have their drawbacks: they are generally heavier than a 'C' or SL rated tire, and the carcass is stiffer, which may give you a harsher ride. Some of the ride issue can be lessened with pressure adjustments. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about the weight. Certain tire sizes are going to be hard to get in lesser ratings.

I tend to find rocky trails. Because of this, I prefer to run a heavier tire for the sidewall protection. I'm also on 33s, which more often than not, are 'C' or 'E' rated ('C' for mine). If you wanna play, you gotta pay. My ride doesn't suffer much...it is a truck after all. And honestly, my gas mileage went up slightly going to 33s, the 'C' rating helps some I'm sure, and being 255s, the (slightly) narrower footprint feels like it is reducing the rolling resistance.

There is no magic bullet with tires. Different sizes, construction, manufacturer, and rating make for a lot of variables. It's good to get multiple opinions, but some opinions are just crap parroted by people who really don't know, or haven't taken the time to think through what they've heard.

TBH, I'd go back to an 'E' rated tire if I had to.
