Dude, "be gentle to me" is always code for "let's discover entirely new ways to debauche each other for 24 hours in a manner that requires professional cleaning services and changes the way we perceive the world forever."

    Still the question is....

I highly doubt it. Not sure why some just choose to be nasty right from the get go. I just keep scrolling and have no worries.

Pre-TacomaWorld, I was reefing on the lugs with a 1/2" breaker bar until they "felt tight".
The I joined this site, and everyone got me all paranoid on torque specs.

I will admit, I still use the old "feels tight" method a lot.
I'm not torquing a battery terminal:)......

As a techie myself… yeah I get it … but perhaps we need to look at why users are not finding what they want? Like update the search tool or other ways. Or you can just keep posting how this bothers you… which is also pointless…

I must admit, the search functions on these forum applications are semi-useful. Like advance search "brake booster leaking" and threads and posts come back "spare tire leaking."

I use a decent-quality 1/2" torque wrench set at 85 ft-lbs and I'm always amazed at how light the pressure feels when it clicks at that level.

But it must be correct/fine because I re-check lug nut torque periodically and I've never found one to be loose.

At that torque, M12 x 1.50 nuts clamp with something like seven tons each. Plus, some have a conical seat so there's a tremendous amount of friction holding them solid.

Nope, you are correct. It is not a one and done deal. Whole other discussion, but I've recently been using a work version, and it will fill your screen with convincing content...but so will a flim flam man, or woman, or whatever. LLM output needs to be checked and vetted with a good old fashioned bullshit detector between the ears.
