Experience from long distance trip across 11 states.
+ small unobtrusive form factor fits nicely behind the rear view mirror
+ easily installed and connected to app. Original connected with Dongar.
+ voice commands work well to save video
+ clarity in daylight. Easy to read signs and license plates (after export). As expected, not as good after dark. Some license plates get washed out if there’s bright lights nearby.
    - app is slow to connect sometimes
    - videos grainy when viewing on app (but message while watching tells you to expect that unless exported)
    - constant power cable relatively expensive
After a parking lot incident (luckily it was witnessed and plate number shared) I added a rear camera and switched to the Constant Power Cable so that I could use Parking Guard (not Parking Mode). Works as described in the instructions (had to re-read a few times until it made sense). I set the timer to 10 minutes and then the cameras “wake up” if the vehicle is tapped or you reenter it. Second camera was only $120 on Amazon.
No problem with battery drain (at least with a relatively new battery). Easily routed power cables, front and rear with a trim tool. Hid the plug behind the front kick panel.

Greatly appreciated! I was looking at the mini 3, has better picture quality, and also the ability to add a rear camera. My only concern was routing the power from the rear camera? Thanks again

Alright so as welcomed as the BigBanger bar is and how cool the amber backlight is, it ain't so cool when it's pitch black out and I've got a bright orange hood. Small little adjustment/toggle switch I added to be able to cycle the backlight on and off whenever I want while still remaining automatic from my DRL signal. Basically here's how it's wired in case anyone else wants to copy or has any other use for a double relay setup like this. I've got it to an ignition powered fuse (wiper) so it's not holding the relay open when the truck is off (DRL signal is already off so it's not needed).

    tacoma backlight diagram.png

Truck is running for both of these pictures, technically pushing in the DRL switch turns off the amber backlighting to the BigBangers, but whatever, it all works now and is able to be toggled on the fly.

In preparation for my Underland rear seat molle panel, that hopefully arrives tomorrow, I got the first layer of 80mil sound deadening mostly done.
It is already way quieter than when I had it completely bare and the rear wall vents still get plenty of air flow.
Tomorrow I will put on a layer of 150mil foam sound deadening, then the molle panel on top of that.
There is so much extra storage space with the plastic cubbies removed.

Agreed. I couldn’t believe how much extra room there was when I removed that plastic piece in preparation for my goose gear seat delete. It’s like 25% more space back there now.

Not today, more like a couple of weeks ago, but I'm just getting around to posting. So maybe 6 weeks ago or so I went to get gas and noticed the fuel door on my '20 was off-center and I had to basically pry it open, only to realize the steel close to the top of the hinge was bent and I had to force the door close. Consulted TW and YouTube to find that bent fuel door hinges are a common'ish taco problem. I still have no idea how it got bent because you'd think I would have noticed doing it. I assessed options from just buying the OEM part and leaving it black, or painting it myself. Then I found Painted OEM Parts, did a little research, and decided to take a chance.

It's a pain to drill out the rivets and remove the old door to attach the new one. I used rivet nuts with stainless screws to attach it, which isn't ideal since I assume the rivet nuts will rust at some point. That said, the part came within about 10 days, the color match is pretty good, I've got a working fuel door, and at least for me, the cost was worth it (YMMV).

I had gotten the glare blockers before installing the LED tag lights, but I don't have any glare not using them, so for now anyway, I am not using them...

My thought on this, it might be the color of the plate and it reflecting the light off it as TN runs a dark blue plate now...

Since you’ve got the blockers in hand and led tags, post pics of the screen while in reverse both with and without blockers (temp install or whatever). For science!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
LEDs in fogs are nowhere near the problem that LEDs in projectors create.
