Getting 2 new front wheel bearing/hub assembly’s on my 2007. Shop said the brand is Dorman. Anyone know how good they are? I also run pretty wide offset. Just wanting them to last.

I recently had both rear bearings replaced. Dorman was the brand the local shop used. They have a 3year/50k warranty. So far (only about 1,000 miles) they have been fine.

I purchased mine from here. You can choose between no name bearings or Koyo/NSK. I think it's cheap insurance to buy the Koyo/NSK.

I've got 10,000 miles on mine, with more weight on them than 99.99% of Tacoma's ever see. My OEM's made it 124,000. Hope to get something similar, but who knows, 10,000 miles should be easy for any bearing, so honestly that 10K i've got should mean nothing.

Dorman or most other hubs are usually fine, but their bearings are definitely sub par. Stick with the Koyo/NSK OEM bearings. Easiest to get from one of the sources above if you don't want to press together yourself.

I'm no mechanic, but by buying the ready to go setup, it took me about 20 minutes for the first side, and 15 for the second. And that included mounting the dust shield wrong and having to take it back apart and put together again. Just had to borrow my sister's impact and buy the right size socket for the axle nut. The rest was just a couple normal wrenches/sockets that everyone has.

Update: just got truck back. Man is it smooth and quiet. What I thought was tire noise for many miles was the bearings. What a difference.

I did mine one at a time to see which side it was. A friend and our mechanic buddy each had their own idea of which it was. my friend was right, the mechanic was wrong, hahaha. Both were bad, but one side was WAY, WAY worse.

It has made longer roadtrips so much nicer.

My driver side was much worse. Scary to think about how long I drove with them being so bad. Just brushed it off as tire noise. Man is it a whole different ball game now.

My eBay assembled Koyos have over 120k miles on em without a single complaint.

my factory bearings made it ~120k miles.

SKF - 5 year/60K warranty at NAPA - been selling them since I started with the company in 2008. Very good reliability.

How do you warranty something like that? Like... if I bought them 3 years ago, and they had 52,000 miles on them and they failed. Do I just come in with the original receipt and the bad hub? Does Napa actually take down the odometer reading? I'm honestly curious how this works, as I've never dealt with it.

Not the mileage, but as long as you buy from the same location (or save your receipt if you're at another location), NAPA will just go by the date in question. If it's within the range, they're mostly cool about it. The corporate stores will do it without question & as long as you don't get a private owner who's a dink, you should be fine as well.
