    4x4 Install

Torque CV axle nuts to spec with a calibrated torque wrench.
A loose assembly shortly after installation means your CV axle nut lost it’s torque.
If the axle nut loses it's torque, forces acting on the assembly will ruin the bearing.

    Loan-A-Tool
    Torque Wrench (173 lb ft).....
    Socket (35mm)......................
    Puller (if difficult to remove)
    Loctite 241.............................

    Install tips
Wire brush CV stub splines of rust/grime, wipe and apply anti-seize to splines (not threads)
After insertion thru hub, clean stub threads with solvent and then apply Loctite 241
Torque axle nut with wheel on the deck

@05Taco4x4 do you have the ability to do Prerunner hub assemblies as well?

I might, but I have a few questions..

    - Do you use a Toyota hub flange for the prerunners? I've heard that they don't make an aftermarket flange for the 2wd prerunner trucks

    - Do you include a Toyota lock nut with these? (I believe this is a prerunner only part)

    - What is the cost for two prerunner hub assemblies? (both of the bearings on my truck are bad)

    - What else, will I need, besides what you include, to bolt these up and get my truck back in working order? I'm guessing maybe inner wheel seals?

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

    Yes, there's no alternative hub.
Yes, there is a lock nut that keeps the hub tight against the bearing.
My hubs come with the O-ring, that is sandwiched between the bearing and steering knuckle.

However fast the components get shipped to me, I have them in mail the next business day (3-day shipping). I probably won't ever stock PreRunners.

Completely understandable, I assume there's much less demand for them. I will keep you posted in the next few days as to whether or not I am going to go ahead with the order. I need to see if I can swing it this time around when I get paid, or if it is going to have to wait.

Thanks again for all your help sir

I am going to hold off on buying these for a while. I went with a dorman assembly to get my truck back on the road until i can afford to fix it properly with an OEM bearing. Definitely keeping you in mind for future reference though as my truck seems to eat through front bearings every 30-40k miles.

Thank again for all the info, its good to know there are members on here than can provide a quality assembly for prerunners & 4wd’s

Thanks again 05Taco4x4 for the bearings. Fast response times and shipping as well. True to his word on components. Went right on after I got the old ones off(rent a slide hammer at O'Reilly's. Don't be a hero like me). Also replaced the rotors and pads while I was at it. No more slack in the steering. Wish I would of done this sooner.

BUMP, no more wheel bearings noise! I finished the passenger, but I didn't replace with the Timken seal.
I wasn't sure how to pop it out, and the one in there looked alright though. Still have the other one, but the road noise difference is crazy!
