Also replaced the remaining heims on the rear suspension with Ballistic joints, they were all new with the rear update last winter and didn’t even make it through the summer. The two ballistics I had been running for 5 years or so have been great.

Hey, how did you deal with the air bag sensors when you built a new core support? Just tap holes into the new tube to mount them? Or did you retain the little standoffs to space them above the core support slightly? Thanks!

You can see it in the top right/left of this pic, just mounted to other bolts that were already there, they are standing off of any solid piece. No issues going on 6 years.

Thanks -- even with the hint, it took me a while to find them. Looks like you changed the orientation entirely.

Impressive work, that looks beefy as hell.

I think I'm going to just try cutting and welding 1/8 angle over the existing lower core support, making a sideways 'U', then plating my way out to the fenders, and I dunno, somehow trying to run a tube back to near the cab mounts somehow. Without cutting out much of what's already there. I suck at fab and nothing is cracked through yet on my truck, so everything is still in position. I can't even line up a drill hole without a milling machine -- no chance I could fab something like this from scratch.

Annual update time, TLDR; more shit broke, I fixed it.

After 6 years of this repair holding on, I found the next weak spot, which was where the new support attached to the cab.

    Torn and frayed.

So, cut all the cancer off and reattached to the body with a bushing. I plated the body, then welded and riveted the plated in, only caught the truck on fire once. Seamsealed everything and put it back together. I cut more of the original inner fender off so I need to make some new fender liners, but shes back together. Working on reattaching all of the body cladding and fender flares that are falling off next.
