No money, all went to truck...
Hi all, coming up on 30k work. I will change oil and filter, change air filter, and I also plan to change differential oil. I've never done this before but seems pretty straight forward. I ordered 6 pts of 75W-90 oil. I am going to try the bag version.

Regarding the amounts, I see to make sure truck is level and then fill till it overflows out of the fill plug. I have manual tranny and not sure if that makes a difference? ~4 its for rear and 1.6 qt for front.

Funny stupid thing, I drove my 2nd gen to 100k and I don't think I ever changed differential oil....

Yes fill till it just starts to over flow .
Just beware when doing diffs , transfer case and tranny .
1- always remove fill plug first then drain plug
2- front diff make sure you have a very good hex socket that you bang into the plug securely. There is a tendency to strip the drain plug .

It's petty easy to do all these services. I did mine last year around this time. I ordered 6 Quarts of Super Tech 75w90 synthetic and a bottle of Redline MT-LV for the transfer case. There is also RAVENOL the another alternative oil to the expensive Toyota Tcase oil, Both about $27.

It should take you a few hours. Just open the fill pugs as already said. Mine were all not difficult to open. Just fill till it comes out and try to keep the truck as level as you can. I got under mine with out jacking it up. taking the spare tire out will give you more room to work at the rear Differential.

And if you plan to swap the front fill/drain plugs for the Lexus ones, you'll need:

    Drain Plug: 90341-24016
    Fill Plug: 90341-18060

I do already have a fluid pump. I'm hoping I won't need it with the oil coming in a bag.

I also did order the gasket kit, will change those out too.

Maybe I'll order the plugs to have in case.
