Knock on wood, my tail gate is still there. In the sunset, there is less foot traffic which makes me paranoid. I installed oem remote lock as my dumbass will probably forget to manually lock the tail gate before I installed it. I also did stalled cali raised cat shields. Haven’t heard of catalytic converter thefts lately in the news, but probably because they just don’t report on it much anymore.

Thanks for this report. I live in Alameda right across the bay from SF, and the local report on the news was from the police dept in Alameda, who busted the ring. I had known for years that they were being stolen in Texas and Southern CA, so I had no idea they were stealing tailgates in northern CA. I installed a deterrent on the right side of the tailgate, so it cannot be lifted out unless one was to remove my deterrent, which at night, which is when most tailgates are stolen, they probably couldn't even see it. I also have a PopNlock installed and a Metal tonneau cover on the bed, so as long as the tailgate is locked, which it is 99% of the time, and the tonneau cover is locked down, I feel I am about as protected as I can get.

No tailgate theives where I'm at however we did have a few people stealing ccs. It took them getting arrested about 2 dozen times before a judge finally give them serious time. Mine isn't protected and they never attempted to steal mine however I did have a coworker who wasn't so lucky.

Bro don’t get me started…I left that fine state for many reasons and poop was definitely on the list. Shit hole is not only figurative but it’s also quite literal in many places.

Idaho is quite scenic. I really enjoyed my time there last summer.
