Big Sur (California)

I see trail reports from earlier in the year that say the south coast trail is closed and there is one trail report from a few weeks ago that says it's open. Is this a good trail to hit right now? Is it a coin toss whether its open or not?

Edit: Gonna share some epic photos if we get there.

 

What is this south coastal trail you speak of?
Is it a hiking trail or a dirt road for cars?
I can’t find it on the net.

The real name is 20S05.5 it brings you to San Martin Cliffside

 

My mistake looks like los burros rd 23S01 brings you in and that other road can lead you out

 

I guess this area opened up at the end of last month, but curious if anyone has been there since then. There could potentially be certain areas closed off, it's been closed for quite some time.

Ahh thank you, the consensus is that it is open as of March 21st 2025

 

There is a rock slide closure on the 1 highway, but I believe it is well north of the 22S01 Nacimento-Fergusson road
