I have a 2015 Tacoma Prerunner. I bought it new. The touchscreen of the stereo is out of calibration. I guess. I have to touch it an inch below what I want to choose. I've been in the "hidden" menus. I was able to get the speaker test to work. But that was all.

I want to connect my new phone to it(Among other things) with bluetooth, but I need to tap the very bottom of the screen in order to do it.

The Toyota dealer says they can sell me a new unit(Of course), but they can no longer install the needed software update. I've looked around to see if I could find the software update, with no luck. I looked at uninstall videos to see if the faceplate comes off. Even if it gives me a quarter inch of extra screen. That may be my only hope. All the videos I've seen just shows the entire unit being pulled and replaced with an aftermarket unit. Buying another aftermarket stereo is not an option at this time.

    Can someone help? Thanks

Hey, I never thought of replacing the screen. Inexpensive too. Great idea. Thanks

Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
Try a hard re-set: With the unit on: press and hold the power knob down for approx 5 seconds. It will re-set and power itself back on. Mine freezes occasionally (no button or screen response) and this fixes it.

Did this on my daughter's Corolla a couple of years ago. There are a few really good videos on YouTube that go through it step by step. A new head unit was EXPENSIVE. This worked great and has been good ever since.
When mine starts acting up, I'll do the same. I don't need a high powered head unit to listen to Bob & Tom and Patriot Radio.

Update. I tried the hard reset. I've tried that many times before, but I tried it again with no luck. HOWEVER, I kept fooling with it and somehow got it to start pairing. The button to ADD a new phone is at the very bottom. I don't know what I did to get it to work to be honest. I have my new phone connected now! Very happy about that.

There are several other functions I still cannot access though. I'm going to replace the digitizer mentioned several times above. Thank you all.
