    I had a 2nd gen, but someone ran into it! Now I have a 25 sr5.

is there any plug and play fwd facing camera? Or an always on rear camera mod?

There’s a dashcam accessory available right from Toyota. It’s pretty expensive, but it’s “official.” I don’t know if it’s any good or practical to install after the fact. Ask at your local dealer’s part department. They might know.

OEM dash camera is pretty good but pricey. Lots of other options that are better out there that can piggy back off the connector by the rearview with the Dongar adaptor. This is all assuming you mean a dash cam and not a 360 type camera setup like the higher ends trims come with.

Definitely look into the dongar adaptor. super easy install. I'm using VIOFO A229 Pro and it stays on for something like 4 hours after you turn off the vehicle. works great!

lol I did. I got a premium sport, but no 360 camera. I never thought i would need a front camera. Until i went offroad for the first time.... dont care about 360 but a front camera would help a lot picking lines when wheeling by myself

The OEM 360 camera is very nice. There's an under vehicle view that is great for picking off road lines.

The money tree wasnt blooming when i was forced to buy a new truck end of last year. I had to reach deep to buy this truck and 360 wasent on my radar for the dirt. Plus i bought thinking it would be a place holder, then i ended up loving the truck as much as my 2nd gen. So just like a lot of people im working with what i got.

Would still like to find an alternative option for the poors. However my need is for one purpose. For the dirt! making sure of tire placement when i cant see 10 feet in front of the truck. could care lass about the other cameras for normal driving.

Wish i could just stick a gopro on the front and stream it to a carplay app. sounds like a very simple thing to do but im sure its not on any carplay app developers radar.

yeah at that point I would just stream a rear view camera to my ipad like my canam and use that. i could 3d print a cradle for the ipad for when im wheeling. But in reality if it dosent integrate with carplay i really have no interest in it.
