Important FYI for all you white paint 3rd Gen Taco owners; be on the lookout for an updated white paint peeling letter. I just got mine today. They have expanded the impacted areas to include along the exterior window door frames, the front inner fender edges under the hood, and on the A-pillar (expanded location).

It also says the condition covered only involves double cab trucks produced from a specific manufacturing facility. But the letter does not specify which facility (that I can see), but I am guessing the Mexi plant.

    Yes, received last week.
The greater issue as I see it is that there is no oversight from Toyota as to how the repair is carried out. Each 3rd party shop can determine their own remedy. This was communicated from my Toyota service advisor and Toyota Brand Engagement representative, and the shop themselves. My advisor also said likely other areas will be included in the future.

Our 2020 was returned after 3 weeks at repair shop this past Friday to dealer. I went to inspect, terrible job and it is going back to shop to fix….

    bad can get worse

Out of the three plants that produced 3rd gens (Tijuana, San Antonio, Guanajato), the only one to have done it continuously through 2016-2022 was Tijuana.

Got the letter, made in TJ and zero issues with the paint - or the truck!
