It should be metric not Standard. Its a 19mm outer diameter.

So the nut needs to be a size 19mm, we tried on a 5/8 and it seems to screw in fine

As long as it fit, but definitely go to the dealership soon and get a replacement oem nut. I install lifts all of the time and you want one that has less chance of seizing.

Tell them that you need the nut and washer to the bolt that connects the rear shackle to the leaf spring. They will be able to find it.

Maybe someone installed an SAE bolt, and that's why the 5/8 nut fits properly?

That may be the truth so you may want to just go ahead and get a new nut as well. Better to be safe then sorry.

honestly I think I rather just wait to put the correct nut on.. I think I been driving like this for months.. you think I will do any damage if I keep driving like this until I get the one from the dealer on

Looks like the original bolt to me. I just went out and checked my truck... I don't think that bolt can be removed and therefore can't fall out, without removing the whole spring hanger. You should be good to drive it to dealer if you have to. But I wouldn't be driving more than was necessary.

No 5/8 SAE nut will thread onto a metric bolt. Whatever you have is either all metric or all SAE. Bolt it up and move on...

Take the nut off the other side and see if it easily threads onto your problem bolt
