I have a 2007 PreRunner 4.0 double cab. Went to regrease the driveline. I couldn't find any zerts. Checked driveshaft and all U-joints. Nothing. Am I missing any?

Some U joints have sealed caps with no grease zerk fittings. Sometimes they are like that from the factory, or possibly a previous owner could have installed them. If you have fittings grease them. If you don't have fittings you can't maintain them - just keep an eye for play/noise and replace as needed.

My San Antonio-built 2015 DC TRD has no zerks on the rear driveshaft. I’m the second owner, after the truck’s first 18 months and 20k miles, so I’m pretty sure the driveline is as it left the factory.

I need to check the front shaft closer with fewer obstructions, but no zerks were obvious on it either.

My 2014 Texas built PreRunner 2.7L has zerks on the drive line. So I don't know what's going on here.

Many tacomas got TSB ujoints all are sealed.

Sealed oem joints are better than any zerk joints, and it also implies its been changed possibly.

    Are you the original owner?

I'm not. There could be a difference between the transmissions. The 4 speed auto drive likely different compared to the 5-speed.

Could be the previous owner replaced the U-joints with the zerk type.

I don’t know if it’s just IOS. The word grease ZERK auto corrects to zero, or whatever it feels like. When filling out a work order, I’ll go back and change them all back to ZERK, then later find it’s changed back to zero again. So if you at some point read, lubed all grease zeros, now you know.

Another one is GALLED. Imagine a rusty bolt & bolt hole. Use an impact wrench to run it in and out repeatedly. Eventually the threads will become damaged, or GALLED.

    Ok, yeah, I’m bored today.
