Any seat reupolstery kits out there?

Hi all, new member to the forum and Tacoma owner since six days ago.

This past summer, I fully redid my 3rd Gen 4Runner's leather seats with a seat cover kit from eBay and it turned out amazing! This is the type of kit where you have to remove the old leather, and install the new faux leather using hog rings.

Now, I've been looking around and have not seem to see anything like this for the 1st Gen Tacoma anywhere. Has anyone found a product like this anywhere? Or, a similar alternative? Reupolstery shops are somewhat pricey and I enjoy doing things myself. I DON'T want seat covers that go over the existing cloth material.

Really, the driver's side bottom cloth and cushion is the main culprit. I believe you can simply remove the bottom part and replace, correct? If so, I may try to find a junkyard seat and do that.

Or, can a 3rd Gen 4Runner seat(s) be swapped in? I believe there would be some modification needed for the mounting brackets.

    Thanks in advance

    - Stephen K./Ruby Tacoma

3rd gen 4runner seats bolt in fairly easily.

The two inner mounts line up.

The front outer mount just needs to be hammer down to a 90*(ish) angle vs the 45*(ish) angle it’s currently at.

The rear outer mount is off by a bit. So you either need to drill a new hole in the floor or buy an adapter from @nzbrock - not sure if he’s still making them: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4runner-seat-adapters.622390/

The last pricing I knew of was around 1,000.00 for two seats then you install yourself or pay someone. They’re super nice and well worth it if you have a nice truck worthy of high end leather seats.
