Well, I've finally gotten around to starting my build thread. I'm going to start out saying as of now, she's a mall-crawler. Sneer and flame if you'd like, but I have to keep her clean because she is becoming one of our demo cars at the dealer I work at when I'm finished.

So, my canvas was a 2010 Access cab V6 4x4 with a 6 speed manual. The list of completed mod's on my list are as follows:

    Injen cold air intake
    MBRP Cool Dual's cat back
    Body color front grille
    Body color rear bumper
    Debadged
Tinted windows (matched the fronts to the factory rears)
    TRD Short throw shifter
    TRD Shift knob
Factory running boards (still up in the air about them)
CompuStar Pro series remote start w/2 way LED remote and blade module
    Had the TSB springs installed
And I feel like I'm forgetting something.......
AH HA! TRD Package smoked headlights

    Update 6/3/2011
Pioneer DEH-P4000UB head unit and Axxess steering wheel control module

    The mod's to come are:
Bilstein 5100's (all 4, still deciding what to set the fronts to)
    BFG KM2's (265/75R16)
TRD Off-road beadlock rims (the bronze ones)
    URD MAF Calibrator
    TRD Supercharger
    JL Audio C2-650 component speakers
JL Audio 10W3V2 single voice coil 2-ohm sub in a custom enclosure
    JL Audio XD700/5 amplifier
    DRL mod

While I finish building her, I've kept the name Nightfury, but that may change when my build is done. I'm not in love with the name, but haven't found anything I like more. Pic's and vid's to follow this post.....

I didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb with my tint, so I went with 38% to match the factory rear windows. While my truck was still inside, I was a little disappointed and was afraid I didn't go dark enough. So, the next day at work, when leaving for lunch, I really got to see it in the light. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a ticket yet, but I'm very happy with it. I'd recommend that level of tint to anyone in a heartbeat.

It was a toss-up between the TRD and URD shifters. I went with the TRD because I'm an anal-retentive freak, and work at a dealer, so I figured it the best option. When I drive my winter beater, and then hop back into my truck, it feels like a damn race car. I love it, and don't know why they don't come from the factory with it. However, I noticed right away I had to have a new shift knob to help cut down on the vibrations, so I just picked up the gray TRD 6-speed shift knob and it has a great feel.

I've never been a huge fan of chrome. It pits too easily, is too bright and pops too much for my taste. So, off with the chrome and on with the Black Sand Pearl. Totally changed the look of the truck. And off came the badges.

In the first week of owning my truck, I had two rocks nail the lower driver's door. So, I trimmed my mudflaps by 4-5 inches, and bought the factory running boards as a chip guard. They've done the job, I get a lot of compliments on them, but I'm still not 100% in love with the look. I'm strongly considering selling them and replacing them with N-Fab step bars.

When I went shopping for a cold air intake, I noticed a lot of people had the TRD and AFE CAI's. I could not find anyone with an Injen, and based on their reputation, I decided that would be a good buy to have something different. I didn't really purchase it for power, I wanted throttle response and most importantly, sound. Well, I got oodles of both. Here's a picture of it, and a video for your enjoyment.

I researched exhausts for about a year before I made my purchase. And boy, was it worth the wait. Originally, I planned on having the TRD exhaust. But that's only a single side, and it's straight out the side, just like the factory exhaust. What is the fun of that?

So, my search started for a nice dual-exit. I found there are a lot of exhausts available for our trucks, but MBRP caught my eye with their powder coated black exhausts. While it would be really sexy, it's $730 for an aluminized, powder coated exhaust (plus shipping and a 6-8 week wait for production). I found the T409 stainless model for $420 shipped. No brainer. Fit and finish are second to none that I have installed so far. Only two itty bitty snags - you have to lower your spare to get the drivers side hanger installed, and you have to trim the extension pipe from the factory Y-pipe to the muffler. Big deal.

Took my truck for a ride right after installing it. I still have goosebumps from the sound it made, ha.

I'm usually about subtle and understated, but I wanted to change the look of the front of my truck. I'm not quite confident enough to bake my $500 factory headlights, so the BLHM wasn't an option, though I really loved the look of it. Queue factory smoked headlights. And I stumbled into a pair at our dealership.

Voila. I like it, it's not quite as obvious as the BLHM driving down the street, but when my truck is parked next to another Tacoma, there's a stark difference.

Looking into this exhaust. Got any feed back? Who did you get it from?

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys. A pair of new additions to the truck; finally got around to installing the new headunit (the whole sound system is going to take a lot more time) and my polished Devil Horn's from Andres look bad ass. So far, everyone who has seen them has loved them. One girl with a GTS Celica even wants some for her car, but I told her they weren't available.......yet.

I chose this head unit for several reasons. Firstly, I prefer single DIN radios. I'm not sure why. Further, it was cheap, it has an OEL display (easy to read in any lighting conditions) and has quite a bit of adjust ability for the price point. With 3 4V pre-amp outputs, built in subwoofer control, iPod control, and can add Bluetooth or satellite radio, it's a useful little unit with great reliability. I had one in my Mazda B2300 (it wanted to be a truck when it grew up) and loved it.

The Axxess Interface SWC module works quite well, once you figure out the install, which isn't as straight forward as I'd like.

Fit and finish on the Metra Turbo kit sucks. I'm going to try and fabricate something out of ABS, or even out of the OEM radio faceplate. I may have just gotten a bad dash kit, but I'm not as impressed with this Metra kit as others I've used in the past.

I received these, and installed them a couple weeks ago, just haven't gotten around to pictures.

They look bad-ass, and people love them. What else is there to say? Here she is all dolled up (thanks to my Wolfgang complete detail kit, which is an awesome kit).
